What is the difference between a Laptop and a Notebook?

Absolutely nothing, Notebook is just another word for Laptop. Given that modern day Notebooks run quite hot given their higher performance parts it can become unsafe to use them on your actual lap, so the name Notebook was used as opposed to Laptop.
