I'm replacing the power supply on my computer and the specifications state a 24 pin however my motherboard only has a 20 pin.

Older or less power hungry systems that only required the 20 pin ATX connection will be perfectly compatible with a modern 24pin ATX power supply, the additional four will be removable allowing you to just fit the 20 pins that you require.
