Zynga Inc hasn't had the best time of things recently; the social gaming publisher has had to pull the plug on many popular and erm, not so popular titles this week. With 13 of their games either taken off line or going off line after dropping subscriber numbers the publisher is on damage control.

It was last October that Zynga made the announcements, so this hasn't exactly come as a shock to many. They said they will cut any underperforming games that were losing revenue and that is exactly what they did, it's business 101 really.

In their cuts though, they have cut off countless players from their beloved games and titles like Pet Ville, Mafia Wars 2, Vampire Wars, ForestVille and "FishVille have had the axe, but of course there are plenty of alternatives and games like the original Mafia Wars, Castleville and Chefville to keep you all clicking away.

I'll be honest, this isn't exactly shed a tear bad news is it? But I know how serious some people take their Facebook games and this could be a sign of more cuts to come from Zynga if things don’t turn around for the troubled company.
