With the start of a new week comes a new set of sales figures. Last week saw Far Cry 3 sat at the number 2 spot, but just as it deserves we now see the game sitting proud at the top spot, easily one of the best game to come out this holiday season and it’s good to see it selling well.
Of course with this development comes a quick surprise, Call of Duty: Black Ops II has finally dropped from the number one spot, taking a slight dive down to 3rd place, obviously a sign of the Christmas rush being finished, but perhaps it will reclaim it as January sales being to take hold on the market.
There really are some quality titles in the charts this week, Hitman Absolution is one of my personal top games this year and with the game being placed at number 4, I'm clearly not the only one that thinks so. Need for Speed Most Wanted and Halo have both moved up one place, but I expect both titles to remain well placed in the charts for some time yet. Another game I expect to do well on the long term is Assassin's Creed III, which has been working its way up and down the charts since launch, but given its Ubisofts finest creation I see no reason for sales to slow down any time soon.
Of course no week would be complete without the usual favourites and Skyrim, Lego Lord of the Rings, Dishonored, Warfighter, Skylanders and Epic Mickey 2 keep the charts padded out nicely, but the real winner is Forza 4 which has once again found a place in the top 20, proving there is still some love for the console racing sim.
