The next draft of wireless networking routers are arriving and non more keen than Western Digital with their My net AC1300 HD Dual band router.
As with other “ac” routers on the market, it’s still in the draft standard but is capable of running 450mbps over 2.4Ghz band and 1,300Mbps over the 5Ghz band. This allows the use of Western Digital’s proprietary FasTrack QOS designed to optimise multimedia streaming.
The unit also has 2 USB ports which will support HDD, printers scanners and many other devices.
Scott Vouri, general manager for Western Digital’s connected life solutions group said:
"The recent introduction of our My Net family of routers brought several new breakthroughs to the market, including our acclaimed FasTrack prioritization technology, amazingly simple setup and the My Net N900 Central router with storage. The My Net AC1300 and My Net AC WiFi Bridge build on those breakthroughs, setting a new standard for wireless speeds and delivering maximum HD streaming performance for our customers, while driving multiple devices on the home network at the same time."
