With SSD prices dropping in the past weeks, there has been an increase in enquiries regarding the products. Questions such as “is it worth putting an SSD in a PS4?” are being asked by our customers. The short answer to this question is yes! Advantages of the SSD are as follows:
- Quicker load times
- Quicker installs for games
- Faster boot
Capacity is no longer an issue as, due to the drop in price, each size has become cheaper too. Even a 500GB SSD is much cheaper than it used to be. Thanks to the guys over at OCZ, there is a video on how to change the HDD on a PS4. The link for this is posted below:
You can also add extra storage to the Xbox One, which is easier to do than with the PS4 as all you need is an external hard drive which is powered solely by USB. Once it’s plugged in, the Xbox will prompt you to format it - then it’s done. This is how simple it is to increase the capacity on the Xbox One using an SSD.
I strongly recommend you upgrade both the PS4 and Xbox One using an SSD as the games are getting increasingly bigger, as are the updates which result in space being used up very quickly.
