Fantastic monitor for the price. Colour accuracy is great and high refresh rate with G-Sync is a game changer.

This monitor is great with a couple of design issues. Contrary to what I read one 'tech expert' say in a YouTube video about "the first time I turned it on all the colours were too red and I had to calibrate it" this I did not find to be the case at all. Straight out the box the colours on my monitor were rich and lush. In fact, after switching to the HDR mode I actually switched back to the out the box mode because the colours looked washed out and ordinary like that - just like my previous monitor - and I didn't pay nearly 500 to have a picture that looked like my old monitor!! I don't know if it's a manufacturing defect or an inevitability of having a screen bezel that's only 1mm thick but the plastic material doesn't run flush along the top of the monitor. This is disappointing but does not seem to affect anything, such as light bleed. The viewing angles as you'd hope for an IPS are just brilliant. I wouldn't say the blacks are quite the "inky black" a lot of gushing (paid for) reviews are saying but when it counts (during gaming) the blacks do not disappoint. Adjusting the monitor is really easy and it pulls up and down nicely, feeling very secure and not at all like it will dislodge a notch (or 5) after you let it go. BUT this brings me to the other big design flaw - when you pull the thing up, it very easily pulls out the HDMI cable. I had a mad panic attack as I happened to do this at the same time I was testing out the power off button on the monitor - so I was wondering why it didn't then turn back on again. They really should have thought of a different position for the HDMI cable as it's right where you're safely pulling upwards on the monitor to adjust it. Finally it may well have fancy lighting on the back - but you'll never know about it unless you go round the back of your monitor. It's very dim, and doesn't even show up on my sky blue walls when it's a dark day in here. Oh sure it might just show up if you're playing games in the dark - but gaming on a monitor in the dark for any length of time is a very bad idea if you value your eyesight - so that's a moot point to try and use. BUT aside from these issues this is a superb monitor. Ultra responsive, amazingly rich colours and really simple to set up. Bit on the expensive side but it's still a good 100 cheaper than the P variant. And research this if you don't believe me - the specs are virtually identical aside from DP 1.4. But the question you have to ask yourself is: is that P version REALLY 100 worth of DP 1.4?? As soon as you've come to the rather obvious conclusion, definitely go on and order one of these - you won't regret it.
