I needed a monitor for 4K video editing and high resolution photo editing and chose this for value as the technology is a compromise but better than cheaper TN screens. Picture quality is excellent but the screen brightness is not sufficient in brightly lit environments. Also a good monitor for games that support 4K provided your graphics card is capable, with the same proviso regarding limited brightness. As a general purpose monitor its probably better than most in preventing fatigue and eye strain. The latest version of Windows has much better scaling abilities now that text and general graphics can be sized independently and this monitor takes full advantage. There are a few programs which don't respond properly to these windows settings, Adobe products for example, and these can suffer from very small menu text at high resolutions.
