The HD-SMX402 is a compact unit which allows you to connect the output from four High Definition sources and display them up to two HDMI display devices. For example, a set top box, DVD player and game console can be connected to two HDMI equipped displays. You can choose to duplicate outputs or have different sources on each display.

The HDMI SWITCH SPLITTER Matrix routes high definition video in multiple resolutions up to 1080p plus multichannel digital audio from any of the four HDMI sources to two displays. Two outputs give you the choices of sending high definition audio and video signals up to two displays. Any four to any two matrix switching allows for maximum versatility for integrated systems.

Do you have you a question about the HDMI Switch Matrix?

Q: How does the unit select the HDMI input is it automatic based on the last input switched on? also how do you select a different input to the second display if it is going to be different to the input on display one? for example PVR to output/ display 1 & PC to output/ display 2. I would be using the switch between 2 rooms. Thanks

This unit comes with a remote control allowing switching of the inputs to each output. and I believe it does save the last setting when turned off. -DH

Q: Does audio from HDMI output through both outputs? As some matrix switches appear to only output hdmi audio to one output at a time, So for example if i wanted t have a console to output to both a capture card and TV both output devices would get the audio? or second example: If I wanted to use console and output to a capture card and then have my pc output to a TV would the caputer card get the audio from the console and the tv get the audio from the pc? Sorry for the long question.

This matrix allows two outputs, and gives you the choice of sending high definition audio and video signals up to two displays. It should be fine for your TV and capture card. -Jake
