Q: Will this work with a resolution of 1920 x 1080, providing this is supported by the PC and the monitor?

Q: Will this work for a CCTV DVR? the HDMI wire from this item going into the HDMI port in the TV and VGA cable from the CCTV DVR going into the VGA slot in this item, I just need picture, no sound.Thanks

I don't believe this adapter is bidirectional, I think it can only convert HDMI to VGA and not the other way round, so would not be suitable for you unfortunately. -Danlevan
