M.2, SATA, SAS, IDE and SCSI Controller Cards
M.2, SATA, SAS, IDE and SCSI cards are the means by which you can attach various forms of storage to your motherboard as follows:
- An SCSI or SAS (Serial Attached SCSI) card can be used to connect one or more SCSI devices to a computer bus.
- An IDE (Integrated Drive Electronics) card allows you to connect devices such as HDDs, floppy drives or CD-ROM drives to your motherboard.
- A SATA card adds extra SATA ports for connecting hard drives/SSDs/optical drives to your motherboard.
- M.2 cards allow you to add or relocate M.2 drives to your motherboard.
In other words, if you’re going to be adding a whole lot of new storage to your system, then you may need one of the cards or adapters listed on this page.
You’ll find that we stock a range of adapter cards from manufacturers including StarTech, Broadcom, Lenovo, Synology and many more.
