Check out our latest 1440p benchmarks for the Horizon 5 gaming PC, kitted out with an Intel Core i5 10400F and RTX 3060 Ti for awesome FPS performance

Horizon 5 RTX 3060 Ti Gaming Benchmarks

The Horizon 5 RTX 3060 Ti is a powerhouse gaming PC that is capable of playing some of the latest games at lightning fast speeds, with the most detailed Ray traced graphics. The CPU is an Intel Core i5 10400F - one of our favourite gaming processors - which has incredible gaming performance at an amazing price point, utilising 6 cores and 12 threads to also provide multi-tasking for streaming and creativity. The RTX 3060 Ti is an excellent choice for price/performance, with 4,864 CUDA cores, 152 Tensor cores, and a boost clock of 1.665 GHz. The 3060 Ti has 8GB of VRAM, which allows you to tweak graphics settings in most games to get the best visuals with very little compromise. By pairing the CPU and GPU with 16GB of fast 3200 MHz DDR4 memory, the Horizon 5 RTX 3060 Ti is a solid choice for all gamers, whatever their favourite genre.

Benchmarks & Optimisation

Whilst presets have been used for the most part, we did not implement any settings optimisation to improve FPS. All games featured in the benchmarks can be tweaked in the video/graphics settings to balance framerate with visuals, such as ambient occlusion or using MSAA instead of FXAA etc. As a good example, GTA V can be optimised for optimal framerates and better visuals by visiting CharlieIntel.com, Reddit or a similar optimisation website. We have included some popular recommended optimisation settings in our results below.

In the interest of neutrality, we have not optimised any of the games in these benchmarks, but you may see significantly better results by tweaking specific game graphics settings!

Horizon 5 RTX 3060 Ti Games Benchmarks

God of War (1440p)

  • Original - 90FPS - 110FPS

  • High - 75FPS - 90FPS

  • Ultra - 65FPS - 88FPS

The Original preset in God of War is what you could call a 'Medium' preset in other games, with a balance of high frames and great visuals. There were peaks of 120FPS during gameplay, and cut-scenes were running at a steady 100FPS for the most part. The RTX 3060 Ti gave some surprising results at 1440p, in that there was little difference between High and Ultra in framerates unless there was a lot going on on-screen. At 1080p, you can expect an increase of a minimum of 10% for all settings according to other benchmarks.

To get the best out of God of War, these settings will increase FPS and balance visuals:

  • Shadows: Original
  • Atmospherics: Low/Original
  • Anisotropic Filtering: Original
  • Ambient Occlusion: Original
  • Model Quality: High
  • Texture Quality: Ultra
  • Reflections: Ultra

Halo Infinite (1440p)

  • High - 85FPS - 90FPS

  • Ultra - 76FPS - 88FPS

Depending on whether or not you're playing Big Battles, Quick Play or Campaign, you're going to see various framerates, but can expect a smooth and shiny experience throughout. In 1080p you can expect better framerates, too, with most reporting that using "common sense" optimisation on things like Motion Blur, and reducing Dynamic Wind on larger outdoor maps can have an impact, also.

GTA V (1440p)

  • Very High - 110FPS - 125FPS

GTA V has been one of the best games to benchmark since it launched, because the developers have focused on improving the framerates on both old and new cards. We're now at a stage where the framerates are extremely high in Story Mode, and even in built-up and busy areas of the map, you can still stay well over 100FPS, despite tearing through the map at breakneck speed. With custom options for optimisation, you can see buttery smooth frames and visuals from the RTX 3060 Ti. At 1080p you can achieve and maintain as high as 150FPS, espcially with optimisation.

The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt (1440p)

  • High - 95FPS - 105FPS

  • Ultra - 75FPS - 95FPS

A demanding game, certainly, but a very pretty one at that. The Witcher 3 is already highly optimised by the developers, but also a game that can easily be optimised in settings for incredible performance improvements where you need it, so any benchmark needs to take this into consideration. There was very little difference between High and Ultra in 1440p, but (if required) gains can be made by dropping to 1080p and altering some of the less-needed settings. Though running The Witcher 3 at around 100FPS is absolutely beautiful, and very little is needed to improve it.
