Its decent but not worth it for overclocking and I wouldn't recommend pairing it with anything higher than a rtx 2060, as the 2070 and ryzen 7 2700X tend to cause your computer to crash. If you use this cpu with a rtx 2060 it is worth getting it.

Fast CPU runs well

R7 2700X comes with decent box cooler, so you don't have to spend extra on cooling, unless you want to OC the CPU. It also wirks on 1st gen AM4 motherboards(after BIOS update). It was really easy swap from R5 1500X and even without OC thr 2700X is fast and reliable out of the box.

One word excellent

Work out of the box, no complaints. The CPU cooler it comes with was a good bonus so I don't have to invest in an aftermarket cooler.

Usually go for Intel, but my son needed a new PC, so chose this processor, very good, very fast, blows spots off my Intel gear, easy to set up, and the stock cooler is better than Intels, think it needs a BIOS update on the mobo as on board graphics not working

As a former Intel fanboy, I'm a convert. AMD have done a fantastic job on these CPUs, if you're hesitating - don't! My main usage is multiboxing games, this is handling everything I can throw at it without breaking a sweat, and cheaper than an Intel equivalent! If you're planning to overclock I'd recommend an aftermarket cooler, otherwise the stock one is fine.

So so so good. The bang for the buck of this chip is off the scale! For the price you get an 8 core, 16 thread chip that runs at a 3.7GHz clock speed as standard. But the main feature of the "X" variants is the built-in XFR 2.0 algorithms. Unlike 1st gen Ryzen, XFR 2.0 looks to dynamically boost your clock speeds as much as possible, assuming only that thermal headroom is good. If you have a good air cooler, or water-cooling then you can expect clock speeds to boost to 4.2GHz very easily, and with a bit of silicon lottery luck, 4.3GHz is possible without any manual overclocking. Even better is the running temps, thanks to a soldered IHS the chip runs cool even when boosting. Using a Scythe Mugen 5, my idle temps average 30-35 degrees Celsius with load temps of 50-55 degrees Celsius. Also included in the price is the Wraith Prism stock cooler. Unlike Intel's stock cooler, this one actually works. It's a very capable bit of kit, perfectly suited for the chip it's bundled with. An aftermarket cooler will probably provide more heat dissipation and less acoustic noise, but if you're on a budget this is perfectly adequate. It even has RGB if you're into that. But best yet, if you don't want it at all you can always sell it for a good 20 to 30 on ebay or wherever: people actually like this as a stock cooler instead of that garbage, destined-for-landfill design Intel makes. All in, this is an extremely capable chip; and with 3rd Gen Ryzen on the way very soon; expect prices for this to drop. If you're on a budget, I'd wait for the price drop for this, but if not, 3rd Gen Ryzen is set to be even better. This is a multi-tasking and workstation monster and gets great gaming performance too.

Super fast processor. If we were more restricted with money we would have gone for the 5 2600X but could stretch to the Ryzen 7!

I've always been an Intel guy, but the value for money on offer tempted me. Having run some benchmarks, I can honestly say this thing is seriously kick a** for the money! VERY impressed!

Great product. In my personal use (gaming/streaming) I don't see a need to pay a premium for an Intel product while I can have very similar performance for half the price.

An eight core processor that's a lot cheaper than Intel's counterpart. With the saving made on the CPU you can afford to invest more in a better GPU. I'm generally gaming fine at 4K with a 1080ti.

What can i say about this awesome cpu , i was reluctant to move from intel but iam so glad i did its played every game ive thrown at it at ultra settings and a great pairing with my rtx 2070..

Great price for a powerful CPU

The guys at CCL are fantastic, friendly, helpful...I can't praise them highly enough. On to the CPU. Great price for what is a powerful CPU. I usually have Android studio, Gimp, Firefox, Sichbo, Blender and a few others on the go at the same time. No problem! The stock cooler does a fair job too and is beautiful, I felt bad replacing it with my AIO cooler but I do run intensive at times and was occasionally hitting 95c. You may well be fine with it. Overall I am very happy.

I'm pleased with this CPU. It's got plenty of power for handling a variety of intensive tasks, from gaming to programming.

It simply works what ever i throw at it and if using the wraith cooler that comes with it. I simply set that at 40% content speed for good quiet cooling.
