Yes it is a genuine Microsoft product. I cannot say for certain if it is compatible or not with the Pro 5 or whether this is the 1796 model as Microsoft's pages don't provide SKU's publicly and their 'find the model for you' page confuses things even further so I am unable to verify the details. I think all the versions of the Pro from 3 -> 7 and the X model all use the same charger though, so it will 'probably' work. Again, I'm unable to verify this as Microsoft's pages are unclear.
