Q: I note that this psu only has a 4 pin atx power connector. I want to use this with the gigabyte F2A55M-HD2 Motherboard which specifies an 8 pin connector, although the picture shows a 4 pin one. Would I need a 4pin to 8 pin adaptor?
Answer by Dan on 28th March 2014
The F2A55M-HD2 does indeed have an 8 pin connector, though the 4 pin connector will be sufficient in most cases. Depending on the processor you install an adaptor may be advisable however. -Danlevan

Q: I have bought a amd radeon r7870 it has a 6 pin and an 8 pin slot. But the psu Ace BR Black 650W has only a 6 pin connector. I tried to bypass the problem by buying a dual molex lp4 4pin to 8pin pci-express converter. This did work initially and does work but a certain game i wanted to play ie tom clancy ghost recon online; made the psu surge which led to my computer turning off. I did not realise this issue as it is my first time building my own pc. Is there any recommendations you can can give me as to which psu I should get since all of the other power supplies give only 2 6 pin connectors, whereas in my case there is an 8 pin slot and a 6 pin. So my real question is, can two 6 pin connectors work with my graphics card or do i just need more power? Or can you tell me which psu would work with my graphics card fully?
Post Answer
Q: Hello would this psu be able to power a gtx260, and this graphics card has 2 pci 6 pin ports to power it but if i get a molex to a 6pin would this work thank you
Answer by CCL on 8th April 2013
Power wise this should be sufficient, however conventional wisdom is that if a power supply does not have the connections required for a graphics card it shouldn't be used, so I would recommend a higher end model with two 6pin connections. -Danlevan

Answer by CCL on 15th January 2013
Minimum PSU wattage for this card is 400w, this PSU is capable for powering this card without any issue as it has a 1x6pin connector to plug into that card. Regards, Mike

Answer by CCL on 17th November 2012
This would depend on other hardware installed in your machine, however this power supply should be capable of handling a good spec PC with the GT630 graphics card installed. -MR

Not a great buy for me - suffers from short leads so difficult to get a tidy look inside a tower case. Having said that the unit has good power/price ratio and working fine.
