I needed a basic PCI wireless adapter for which there would be Linux drivers available, and this does the job. Installation was a seamless 'plug and play' experience for a desktop machine with Debian 10 installed that previously had an ethernet adapter only. No additional download or driver configuration required, just fitted the adapter, rebooted, and had a working wireless card. It used driver rtl8192ee from the firmware-realtek package. The fact that this worked without fuss on Debian indicates drivers are mature, stable, and if not already included with your favourite distro/kernel then probably readily available in your repositories.
