SSDs are fast, but expensive, and offer minimal capacity. Mechanical hard drives boast large capacity for a low price, but are much slower than an SSD. AMD StoreMI technology “combines” these two types of storage into a single drive and automatically moves the data you access the most to the SSD. Every AMD Ryzen™ processor is multiplier-unlocked from the factory, so you can personalize performance to your taste. AMD provides the AMD Ryzen™ Master utility to access this powerful advantage.

Very pleased with the performance of this CPU as an upgrade from Ryzen 5 1600 AF as a streamer & gamer I would recommend this 8 core processor with base clock of 3.6 GHZ capable of clocking up to 4.4 GHZ but i would recommend an aftermarket cooler or AIO for overclocking. I would suggest turning off precision boost via Motherboard Bios when overclocking as with the wraith prism that's included with 3700x can get quite loud on heavy loads and the voltage can fluctuate with PB on. for example for temps with stock cooler was getting 44 degrees on idle then on stress test was rising up between 60-70. Now with an AIO, I was getting 34 degrees on idle and max temp of 55 on stress test. For gaming performance its a great entry level for building or upgrading into the 3rd Gen Ryzen series. To summarize this review i would suggest this CPU is bang for the buck for gaming and multitasking.

Had both Intel and AMD CPU's in the past. Never had any issues with any of my AMD prodcuts. Can't say the same about my previous I7-6800k. Great performance to cost ratio. The included Wraith cooler is also decent and more than suitable for running at stock clocks. Would highly recommend.

Why call it a 3700x when the standard speed is 3600mhz, however when combined with the right components, It fly's, seriously quick, but a system is only as fast as it's slowest part, so if you put a crap drive in as the boot drive, you'll get crap results...it all needs matching.

First Ryzen processor I've brought. Got it at a great price with the new Asus B550F mobo. Works really well. Surprised how well it performs

Processor performance is excellent, and I reckon that 8 cores is going to be the sweet spot for PC gaming hardware with the upcoming console generation featuring similarly specced chips. Included cooler is a decent budget option if like me you don't have the budget for anything with better performance, though acoustically it's noticeable.

Plenty of power for almost any task you can imagine, photo editing, renders, games you name it. The stock cooler is beefy and uses copper pipes however i opted for a bigger aftermarket one. Out of the box it performs really well but to get the most of it you should refine the options available on the motherboard.

This processor has plenty of power to perform almost every task you can throw at it, the stock cooler is really beefy but i opted for an aftermarket just to be sure. Out of the box performance is respectable and it can be refined to lower temperatures and get a little more speed.

Absolutely great. Was running on an i5 4670K for a long time and finally upgraded to this. After doing a slight overclock, it was on par with the current gen i7 CPU a friend of mine recently bought but decently cheaper. Really happy with it.

I truly do believe that the Ryzen 7 3700X is the best CPU available. While it doesn't win in raw performance, and isn't neccessarily cheap, it is the perfect combination of the 3 P's - Price, Performance and Power. No other CPU on the market can deliver a 4.2GHz clock on 8 cores, using only 65W and all for under 350. I think most people ignore the Power rating, and look only at price and performance - but this tiny power consumption means that you can get away with less cooling, you have more headroom for overclocking, and you can use smaller and lower rated power supplies which further allows you to use a smaller chassis and save on electricity costs. Becasue of this low power, thermals are consistent and good. I have an overkill cooler for this CPU (Dark Rock Pro 4), and the only time it became even audible is when I ran Cinebench and the temps touched 70'C. It has not been that hot since. As for performance, it is designed to challenge the i7-9700K - the latest Intel i7 Overclockable processor. And while it loses out in Single-Core performance, the greater number of Cores means that for most applications it has a slight advantage, all for a cheaper price.

Wanted to upgrade my old PC for quite some time and decided to wait for the Ryzen 3000 series. After some research I decided that the Ryzen 7 3700x is perfect for my needs. Went from an old 4 core 4 thread CPU to this so it is a big upgrade! Paired this CPU with a B450 motherboard and it has been working perfectly for the past month. I enabled PBO on the BIOS and just let it do it's job. Temperatures are fine and no issues so far. With PBO the CPU was able to reach the specified speeds with no problems. Overall very satisfied with this CPU and the fact that it also has 65W TDP is amazing.

after all the voltages problems at release, it's a great cpu easy to install and comes with a great cooler if you are not going to overclock it at all. Remember that if you are not using a 5 series mobo you will need a way to flash the bios. I used a msi b450 so you don't need a cpu on most of those(msi b450x470) to update to the newest bios hopefully it will only get better with time. gaming 4.5/ 5 content 4.6/ 5 streaming and gaming at same time 4.7/ 5 value for money 4.9/ 5 it is only 4 star because of the voltage issues at the start. that was not fun seeing such high temps and volts on something you just paid over 300 on.

July 2019

After making the switch from an i5-4670k, I can easily say that I am happy that I swapped from Intel to AMD. The last couple of years AMD have made great leaps in their CPUs and in my mind have now overtaken Intel in performance for the price. I had no issues with installation or booting up my PC, I have seen some concerns over the power draw of these 3000 series processors but I'm sure things like this will be ironed out soon enough by AMD.

Titchy43

July 2019

Moving from Nehalem I7 920, this feels like a decent upgrade. Megui (x264) encodes are about five times faster for me, and my gaming experience (using a gtx 970) has really improved in BF5. I think it strikes a nice middle ground if you use your computer for work and gaming.

Jack

July 2019

Great processor providing more performance than my ageing i5-6500. Similar to everyone else, I am a little cautious of the voltage and temperate readings when on idle, but Robert from AMD over on Reddit assures this is normal but something they are looking into. Stock cooler works great, if not a little loud. Looks great too.

Jack

July 2019

Great performance improvement over my i5-6500 in my old rig. Like many, there are questions in regards to voltages and temperatures but we are assured by Robert of AMD over on reddit that this is nothing to worry about, but something they are actively looking into. If you're looking for a gaming PC, don't cast this CPU aside because your favourite YouTuber said Intel is better. For pure gaming, sure, but in the real world you are never just running games on your rig and this also comes with the benefit of being brilliant for other tasks outside of gaming too.
