Crucial Mx500 ssd's After lots of research and watching endless YouTube videos I invested in a 1TB mx500 ssd for the ps4 pro and it was a complete game changer for boot and load times. Since then I have added 3 of these to my desktop 1 for Windows drive and 2 as games drives and what a difference, superfast cold boot to windows and game level load times are massively faster. For a bit of fun I took my 11 year old gaming laptop (i5) which took 1.5 minutes to boot up and had various issues with load times and handling processes and added a 500gb mx 500 and upgraded the ram to 8gb and now a useless obsolete machine cold boots in 12 seconds and works great with daily tasks and runs older games like skyrim and xcom and dirt 4 at a great speed on high settings. These hard drives are great for console/modern pc and for breathing life back into old machines. Why buy anything else? I certainly won't be.

I bought this as a long overdue upgrade for my aging notebook PC. CCL appeared to have the best deal on the day and in went my order. Delivery was fast and installation of the drive was straightforward. I partitioned the drive and installed Ubuntu Studio. Wow! this drive has completely transformed my PC. It boots in a few seconds and the applications are more responsive than ever. It feels like I have a new computer. So, if you are thinking of upgrading an old computer that still has a spinning hard disk but aren't sure I'd say go for it.

had a 1tb hard drive in my laptop as standard but was very slow so looked in to ssd drives looked on you tube for performance wise and how to swap over looked on crucial webiste and did a scan and came back with this as a upgrade looked on ccl and they had the one and at a lower price and as ive used ccl a few times had no issue getting it from here ordered on line and got 4 days later could have had sooner if paid extra postage so simple to fit once you clone your haddrive its just a case of remove and plug in new one

Bought this Crucial MX500 ssd drive to update the hard drive on my laptop, what a difference in speed. Used the recommended software that came with the ssd drive to transfer my old drive's information to the ssd drive it was very easy with no issues at all. Would highly recommend this Crucial SSD drive.

Bought to improve my 3 or so year old desk top, unbelievably fast compared to the 7.200 W.D. hard drive it replaced. Used the recommended Acronis software to copy my old drive (Very easy). It comes with a 5 year warranty, so Crucial must have great faith in their product. This is the third one I've bought over the last 15 months.

Due to the invisible invaders we're told to watch out for the prices of SSDs has been steadily rising on Amazon where as CCL have generally held firm. Hence buying them here and the faster delivery at the moment. Amazon don't consider MX500 SSDs essential, I do. I've used many different SSDs and they're all miles faster than hard drives. However the MX500s do seem to make a system very responsive. A clue is not in it's maximum speed but in it's 4k speed and it's IOs per second, 95,000 of them. OK so Optaine does 500,000 but there are other SSDs that do a lot less than 95,000. The other thing is these are in a metal case where as other SSDs are in flimsy plastic by comparison.

These was the single best upgrade I have ever made to my pc. Took an aging pc and gave it a new burst of life. Installation instructions were detailed and relatively easy. Would definately recommend.

Performance is fine but installation a nightmare. Upgrading to Win 10 from XP didn't help.

I replaced the hard disk in my laptop with this Crucial SSD. Previously my laptop used to take 3 or 4 minutes to start up but now it takes about 40 seconds and programmes load more quickly when I am using the computer. I find that I am using the computer more often now because it is quicker. Copying my hard disk information to the SSD was very easy and relatively quick with the downloadable software recommended and the installation of the SSD was easy.

Love it. Easy to buy from CCL, and good value. The Crucial ssd includes a code to use Acronis cloning software. It was completely straightforward to install using Acronis, with simple instructions, and no problems at all. This is the second Crucial/Acronis install I have done. Thoroughly recommended to give a new lease of life to an old computer, both desktop and laptop.

Great piece of kit, works a treat and way better than the noisy hdd. Shame the postal service let you down with a long winded delivery, but Im well satisfied with the result.

Transformed my 2011 MacBook Pro

Great replacement for an old IDE drive. Product arrived on time, was easy to clone thanks to Acronis and an IDE to USB cable (bought seperately). Configuring the drive after installing and turning on the boost facility really make this zip along. Gave my old Dell 1749 a much needed boost.

Fitted into my early 2011 macmini. My old standard hard drive was so slow it was driving me mad. The new drive works a dream fast access to all applications especially Photoshop with no spinning wheel. To be honest I wish I had taken the plunge and changed it years ago. However at about 60 for a 500 gig SS Drive it's a bargain.

The biggest advantage of SSDs is that they speed up booting and loading software, and the three of these I bought this year have done this. The oldest one is only 9 months old and certainly hasn't caused any concern. The other two were bought and installed 4 weeks ago. I opted for Crucuial because because they have a reputation for reliability.

Good and fast, and I'm amazed how cheap such large SSDs are these days. 500GB gives plenty of space for a Windows 10 install and a small catalogue of AAA games.

Wanted to update my laptop drive to a SSD, I was looking at an Intel or the Crucial, both were a similar price. I chose the Crucial because it came with Acronis backup software but beware that you cannot use the Acronis software unless your laptop has space for two drives, would probably be okay in a desktop where you could add an extra drive. When you try to download the Acronis software it searches your computer for a Crucial SSD, wouldn't even find it in a USB caddy. Other than that it's a nice fast drive, boots to the desktop in about 7 seconds now.

The Crucial MX500 2.5 " 500GB sata III Solid State Drive arrived when expected. It was packed in a fitted card box together with a 2mm spacer, needed if it replaced a 9mm thick drive. But it did not come with mounting screws which could have been a problem. I used it as an upgrade for a similar 120GB drive and it worked perfectly.

Works well with my aging 2011 MacBook Pro. No issues during set-up and has worked well for the last month or so since installed.

Fairly painless to install and once in works well. Certainly quicker than my old hard disk.

So I'm going to be real with anyone reading this, if I had a choice between Overclockers and CCL I wouldn't hesitate to choose CCL. The best prices I've seen on the products I want and the pretty good delivery options. Bought a CPU cooler and a case from OCUK and it was not cheap, coming to CCL next time. **I copied this over from another product but it's not a bot, I am a real person btw**

Great for price for my budget gaming build. Fast as well, From switch on to desktop in less than 10 seconds. Always love Crucial drives, use a Crucial M$ in my laptop. This will definitely do you if you are on a budget. It's very fast and loads my games very quickly. For it's price there isn't anything better quality wise.

Absolutely amazing! This brought life back into my Mac Mini! It was so slow it took at least 2/3 minutes to open a web browser now with this SSD its opens within seconds! If your computer is slow you will definitely need this it will be like a new machine! Ill be upgrading to 1TB within the near future.
