Do you have you a question about the Intel Core i3-12100 Desktop Processor, 3.3GHz Base, 4.3GHz Turbo, 4 Cores (4P+0E), 8 Threads, Socket LGA1700, 65W TDP, 12MB Cache, Intel UHD Graphics 730, Intel Laminar RH1 Cooler?

Q: does it run 4k movies?
Answer by Mark on 4th February 2022
The UHD 730 graphics onboard the 12100 will output 4K @ 60Hz as long as you have a HDMI 2.0 or DisplayPort 1.2 cable (and the motherboard needs to have DP and/or HDMI output).

Had a generation 6 before this is very fast

CPU great. Cooler had a broken fan blade, which was odd considering there was no damage around the fan blade to the fins or the box. Temporarily ran with the bottom part of the cooler secured to the processor and an 80mm fan stuck on top just to make sure CPU was working. Ordered a replacement cooler anyway as not a fan of the plastic push pins Intel use to secure coolers.

Great CPU for the money

Straightforward fitting and instructions easy to follow. All up in and working

Great cpu with on board graphics. I can get 70 fps in valorant with no gpu. Super happy with this.

Very competitive with i5 processors, especially for 'everyday' tasks. Very good value.

It's true - this budget i3 12100 CPU is perfectly fine for most games, with 4 cores and 8 threads. This is especially true if you game at 1440p or 4K, because you'll be GPU-bound anyway. I got the non-F version because if my graphics card ever dies, I still want to be able to use my compurter!
