Every August, the gaming world’s eyes turn to Cologne, Germany for Gamescom — the biggest gaming event in the world. This year’s show was bigger than ever, with thousands of exhibitors, hundreds of thousands of attendees, and more reveals than we could possibly count.
The CCL team was lucky enough to be on the show floor for the entire week, soaking up the atmosphere, watching the big reveals live, and, best of all, getting our hands on some of the most exciting games coming in the next year or so.
We’ve come back buzzing with excitement, and after much discussion in the office, we’ve narrowed down our six favourite games from Gamescom 2025. From LEGO humour to spine-chilling horror, here are the titles that we can’t stop thinking about — and why you’ll need a capable gaming PC to enjoy them at their very best.
LEGO Batman: Legacy of the Dark Knight

LEGO games have always been a guilty pleasure for many of us at CCL. There’s something irresistible about the mix of slapstick humour, creative puzzles, and surprisingly deep co-op gameplay. But LEGO Batman holds a special place in our hearts. Some of us still remember firing up the original LEGO Batman on our old consoles as kids, smashing bricks as Batman and Robin, and giggling at the cutscenes.
That’s why LEGO Batman: Legacy of the Dark Knight hit us right in the nostalgia at Gamescom. It’s bigger, sharper, and packed with new mechanics, but it still carries that trademark LEGO charm. The Gotham environments are darker and moodier, fitting the “Dark Knight” moniker, but there’s still plenty of the humour that makes LEGO games timeless. Whether you’re a kid discovering LEGO Batman for the first time, or a grown-up reliving those childhood sessions, this one’s going to be special.
Resident Evil: Requiem

We can’t talk about iconic franchises without mentioning Resident Evil. From the tense tank controls of Resident Evil 1 to the genre-defining Resident Evil 4 remake, Capcom has reinvented survival horror time and again. At Gamescom, Resident Evil: Requiem absolutely stole the show — and for good reason.
This ninth mainline entry pushes the series back toward its terrifying roots. You play as Grace Ashcroft, an FBI analyst who is more vulnerable, more human, and more relatable than some of the action-heavy leads of the past. Trapped in the Wrenwood Hotel, Grace has to rely on stealth, light, and sheer nerve to survive against creatures that made even seasoned Resi veterans in our team jump out of their seats.
The demo we played had us using lighters to guide our way, throwing bottles to distract relentless monsters, and scrambling for safety when one smashed through the ceiling. It’s atmospheric, terrifying, and it swept multiple Gamescom awards. If you’ve ever hidden behind the sofa while playing RE2 or screamed when Nemesis burst through a wall, Requiem will make you feel right at home — or maybe right in danger.
Hollow Knight: Silksong

Some games develop a following that borders on legendary. Hollow Knight was one of them. The original’s intricate world design, tough but fair combat, and gorgeous hand-drawn art style made it a modern indie classic. Fans have been waiting years for Silksong, and at Gamescom we finally got to see the long-awaited sequel in action.
Taking control of Hornet, you’ll explore Pharloom, a vast new kingdom that dwarfs even Hallownest. The sheer scale is staggering: over 200 enemies, 40 bosses, and nearly 100 save benches to discover. Hornet moves with an agility that makes combat feel faster and more acrobatic, and new side quests add more depth to the journey.
For those of us who remember grinding through Hornet’s boss fight in the original game, stepping into her shoes felt both strange and thrilling. This was one of the most hyped reveals at the show, and it’s safe to say it lived up to every bit of the anticipation. September can’t come soon enough.
The Outer Worlds 2

If you like your RPGs full of wit, sci-fi flair, and choices with real consequences, Obsidian’s The Outer Worlds was probably on your list back in 2019. We loved the first game’s quirky humour and sharp writing, and we were thrilled to see The Outer Worlds 2 looking bigger and bolder at Gamescom.
Set in the Arcadia colony, the sequel throws you into a world being torn apart by space-time rifts. Obsidian has leaned into what they do best: giving players meaningful choices, letting factions shape your path, and layering it all with biting satire about corporations and politics. With Unreal Engine 5 under the hood, it looks fantastic too.
For us, it feels like the true heir to the kinds of RPGs we grew up playing — from Fallout: New Vegas to Mass Effect. This is going to be one for the role-playing fans to sink countless hours into.
Silent Hill f

Silent Hill is a series that defined psychological horror for an entire generation of gamers. The oppressive fog, the twisted monsters, and those unforgettable soundtracks from Akira Yamaoka made Silent Hill 2 and 3 unforgettable experiences.
Now, Silent Hill f is taking the series somewhere new: 1960s rural Japan. Written by Ryukishi07, the creator of Higurashi When They Cry, it brings an unsettling blend of beauty and horror. Imagine strolling through a beautiful, flower-covered village, only for the petals themselves to turn into something grotesque and terrifying.
What struck us most in the demo was how personal the fear felt. You’re not a super-soldier with guns and grenades; you’re vulnerable, wielding makeshift melee weapons and fighting to survive. It reminded us of playing Silent Hill 2 as teenagers, late at night with the lights off, and wondering if we’d ever sleep again. This is Silent Hill at its best: haunting, unnerving, and unforgettable.
Call of Duty: Black Ops 7

It wouldn’t be Gamescom without a big Call of Duty reveal. Black Ops 7 may have been the most bombastic showcase of the week, and even though we’ve all played countless COD games over the years, this one had us grinning like kids again.
Set in 2035, it brings back familiar faces like David Mason and Raul Menéndez, but it’s the modes that really stood out. The co-op campaign lets up to four players tackle the story together — a feature we’ve missed since Black Ops 3. Then there’s Endgame, a massive 32-player PvE mode that felt like part survival, part open-world chaos. Add in the new Skirmish multiplayer, Zombies mode with vehicles, and Dead Ops Arcade returning, and it’s clear Treyarch and Raven are swinging big.
For those of us who grew up hosting late-night COD LAN parties, this felt like a return to form, but with modern scope and ambition. November’s going to be busy.
What All This Means: The Future of Gaming (and Why You’ll Need the Right System)
If Gamescom 2025 proved anything, it’s that the future of gaming is bold, ambitious, and more demanding than ever. Games like Resident Evil: Requiem are pushing lighting and atmosphere with ray tracing, The Outer Worlds 2 is harnessing the power of Unreal Engine 5, and Black Ops 7 is running vast multiplayer and PvE modes seamlessly.
All of that means one thing for players: you’ll want a system that can keep up. There’s nothing worse than stutter, screen tearing, or being stuck on low settings when a game is meant to be breathtaking. That’s where we at CCL Computers can help.
