Because Precision Boost Overdrive enables operation of the processor outside of specifications and in excess of factory settings, use of the feature invalidates the AMD product warranty and may also void warranties offered by the system manufacturer or retailer. July 2023

Great upgrade from 3700x.. With a little undervolt per core temps are really good 32c idle never above 70-75c full load.. Cores 0 and 2 are the best ones and have -5 reduction, the rest have -30.. Cinebench R23 is around 15500 points multi.. A fantastic cpu at a really good price.. CCL were excellent once again..

Top cpu, good price

February 2023

It came reasonably fast, it bumped my warzone/mw2 frames from 70fps to 150-200 ( and mw2 / warzone 2 is poorly optimised game, so its done wonders for my pc, it works great with my 6600xt gpu the price was really good, I didnt realise without the game it was cheaper, but 200-231 for a ryzen 7 5800x. For those prices are really good

Very fast, good comparability with the ASUS ROG B550 motherboard and just works. Note: this CPU does not come with a cooler so remember to purchase one!

Runs like "the dogs .1233456" Value for money, hey there is a global semiconductor shortage and the chip fabrication are at nearly 99% use. Can't be helped.

June 2021

Great CPU although does get hotter than my old one. All working fine though.

Works in MSI X470 motherboard with latest BIOS I recon this was good value when I bought it. The 3000 and 5000 series are streets ahead of the original 1000 and 2000 series RYZENs. The original series were actually a bottleneck for gaming frames per second compared against Intel even though they were twice the CPU grunt. I replaced a RYZEN 5 1600 with a 3600 and Valley max FPS went from 150 to 200 on an RX 580. Same setup with this RYZEN 7 5800X and Valley max FPS hits 300! I had thought the modest RX 580 would be the bottle neck on any RYZEN but apparently not. I had a RYZEN 3 1200 in the X470 system just as a placeholder whilst I saved up for this CPU. My system worked fine and honestly I could not justify the upgrade. However in just normal office use the system feels smoother and more responsive. Windows drag more smoothly, open that bit more instantly (yeah I know, but there is a difference) and games which sometimes had stutters work faultlessly. Boot time is faster too. System; RYZEN 7 5800X MSI X470 32GB DDR4 3200 240GB NVMe So yes this works in the MSI X470 with the latest BIOS, as does the lowly first gen RYZEN 3. 1TB MX500

April 2021

Really underrated CPU that offers a good compromise between the more gaming focused 5600x and the 5900x powerhouse (plus you can actually buy one!). Performs brilliantly with an AIO cooler, hovering around the 65-70 degree mark on most modern demanding games, and chews through video rendering at a rate that puts the Intel 8700k it replaced to shame. If you can find one for under 400 (as of April '21) then it's a no brainer.

Tyler Osborne

April 2021

I bought this because of the current shortages in availability on other components. It has certainly lived up to my expectation, and while it was slightly more than I initially wanted to spend, has given demonstrable performance improvements over the hex-core 5600x that I was initially aiming to purchase.

I can't fault this CPU for the most part but it gets really hot if you leave it default that is or even do overclocking or underclocking using the boost curve. It still requires a lot of volts and heat to get the top boosts even with an underclock. I settled for doing a manual underclock. Set the Loadline Calibration, xmp profile for the ram and set the actual voltage lower itself, so manual underclock the voltage without using the Precision Boost 2 or whatever it's called, just leave that on auto. Then you have a pretty low voltage, temps and PC doesn't crash. Lowest I could get is 1.66 volts which can give me up to 4.8 all core. The Loadline calibration for my old Intel CPU was solid, this one on this motherboard does fluctuate a bit and goes sometimes up to 1.172 or something. No biggie but be better if it didn't.

Great product for the money

February 2021

I updated my i5-6600 to this beast and I have no words to describe it, simply amazing!

Steven Williams

February 2021

Only thing to say about this cpu. Buy one its amazing was using a Ryzen 7 but previous gen the difference is palpable. The other great thing is CCL better than the others especially sellers that dont respond to the phone and take two days to respond to emails. Just buy this from CCL top company AAA+++

Richard Griffiths

February 2021

Excellent performance out of the box and then used PBO2 and Curve optimizer to push my single core peak to just over 5.0ghz with a slight improvement in multi core too. Fast delivery, well packaged.

Norkay

January 2021

A strange CPU. Too powerful for gaming (5600X), not powerful enough for serious productivity applications (5900X). Runs a bit hot when PBO is enabled, and runs in Auto OC, in Ryzen Master. Even on four radiators loop (with two 360mm) and 1080Ti in the loop, it idles around 37-42*C. Reaches 84*C under 100% load promptly. As per photo, 56*C to 64*C is a normal, gaming temperature. All of that is understandable, as compared to my previous, Kaby Lake processor, it's lightning-fast. Any compression or multilayer photo operations are finished visibly faster. I've gained around 15 to 20 fps per title, as I mostly play in UWQHD (3440x1440).

Kurt Kho

January 2021

Very good chip but runs hotter compared to the other cpus in the zen 3 line up

Benny Har-Even

January 2021

Mauuur power!!!!!!!!

Lewis Tull

January 2021

very fast, runs a bit hot for my liking but overall I'm very happy.

Jack Moxley

January 2021

Does the job, price point is a little high but worth it.

Michael S

January 2021

Very hard to get hold of but I managed to get it at a fair price when CCL notified me they were in stock. Easy to fit, no set in bios, it just worked straight out of the box, even with my XMP RAM. TDP of only 105Watt means it doesn't need a big cooling solution and so makes for a quiet rig. PCIE version 4 means you can squeeze maximum performance from things like the M.2 drives. Much more processing power than the nearest Intel equivalent, AMD has made a huge comeback over the last three years.

Tenzin

January 2021

Thank you CCL, hard to come by product and you had in stock. Received it the following day, in a secured bubble wrapped box.

Tony Smith

January 2021

Top performance, runs cool very happy with purchase

robert clay

December 2020

pretty decent for gaming so far

Simon Whitehouse

December 2020

All is as expected, my only disappointment is the core temperature - it seems abnormally high at idle (40C+) and suffers very brief temperature spikes despite having a decent cooler (Noctua NH-U12A)

Conor Earl

December 2020

A huge upgrade on my i5 4690k, no surprises there! Absolute rocket of a CPU

Conor Earl

December 2020

Unbelievably fast, it was right in my price point as I didn't want to fork out as much as the cost of 5900x yet wanted more than the 6 cores of the 5600x, game-changing upgrade over my i5 4690k but I wasn't surprised by that, very strong across the board

Luke Blackburn

December 2020

Great CPU for gaming and productivity, works very well. No complaints.

Luke Blackburn

December 2020

Very nice CPU. Its a good step up from the 5600x for productivity, and of course it's great for gaming on too.

Aditya

December 2020

Great product, powerful enough to handle any gpu, amd has pulled it out the bag on this one. Ccl was amazing with their fast delivery and sensible pricing
