Q: I have an external hard drive a Buffalo 500GB I attach it to my Vensus Touchpad 7 go to settings and push the icon for external drives but nothing happens. How do I find my external drive so I can view my movies. Also should the Touchpad be connected to the mains while running movies as my external hard drive takes it power from the Touchpad. In the top right hand corner of the screen should be a small apps menu button, Skype should be located in there. If not for some reason, look for the Google Play app in the same said screen, type Skype into the search bar and download from there. -Jake

Q: Hi i have used this tablet a few days, as it has only been a week i have recieved it. The home middle button on the front is not workin and so is the return button sometimes. Unfortunately as the screen makes up the majority of the cost of this tablet and factoring in the cost of labour to repair it would not be economical to do so. We aren't able to replace these and the manufacturer does not offer these either I'm afraid. -Danlevan

Android devices don't have the capability to have drivers installed so the only way this would work is if the remote has an Android app that it would function through, and I'm not aware of anything like this. -Danlevan

This tablet can only connect to the internet with a WiFi connection so you would need a wireless connection. There is no other way for it to connect unfortunately. -Danlevan

With the tablet turned on, there should be a reset button on the back or one of the sides, that you push a pin into. This will perform a factory reset on the tablet and should let you back in. -Danlevan

Q: My sons both have the versus 7 and both seem to want to buy the same games. I have registered both tablets to the same gmail account but when I buy a game on one tablet I have to buy it again on the other. I have spent hours looking through all the options, when I use tablet1 I can buy a game through gmail and it will upload onto tablet1 (there is no option to upload onto a different tablet, there only seems to be one attached to that account) but then when I go onto tablet2 and try to install the same game it asks me to purchase again, if I purchase then it uploads to tablet2 fine so it must be attached to that gmail account somehow. I hope that makes sense, I can purchase games on both tablets but can't seem to then transfer them to the other so I don't have to purchase again. Please help!

Q: Sometimes when the tablet gone to sleep mode, when I try to turn it back on the screen lock won't let me swipe. I swipe and nothing happens as if the screen isn't registering. I then try to turn off the power by holding down the power switch and nothing happens. Is this a recognised problem, is there a fix? Sorry if I've used the wrong terminology, I'm not too technical. Thanks.

This could indicate a fault with the device, the first thing I would try is to perform a factory reset to see if this resolves the problem. This option can be found in the System Settings menu, under Backup & reset. If this does not fix the problem I would recommend getting the tablet back to us as we would have to send it back to Versus for repair. -Danlevan

This tablet uses a standard Mini HDMI - HDMI cable, so any will work. CAB0164 should do the job just fine. -Danlevan

Q: How do you find the external hard drive connected via mini usb so that I can view my files? The files have been transferred onto the hard drive using windows xp on my pc.

As long as the drive is formatted in FAT 32 a mini USB to USB converter will allow you to connect the drive and it should automatically be viewable in the file manager. -Danlevan

With Android you can tap and hold your finger on an app icon, which after a second or two will allow you to then drag around onto the main screen. That way you can change places and add/remove apps from your main screen to set the layout how you want it. -MR

Q: i just bought a versus touchtab 7 unfortunately i didnt take note that the usb port is small and a normal size dongle is far to big, is it possible to use a usb connector wire to connect the dongle or would i be better getting a different tablet.

You cannot use an internet dongle to connect a tablet to the internet. You either need to use Wi-Fi to connect or you need a tablet that has a SIM card slot so you can get a 3G SIM card from a mobile provider and use that to connect. -MR

I dont have wifi or internet at home but mine came with a connection cable so i am connected with my 3 dongle - really easy, just plug it in and away you go .

Length, width, depth of the whole tablet, then the length and width of the viewable window. 7" doesn't mean much as this cld be 7" sq or 7" corner to corner, which still doesn't give me an overall picture of size. Yes, you would be able to play audio books. You could even copy an audio book off a CD and transfer it across to the tablet, playing it as a sound file. -MR

This tablet does not use the Google Play store, instead it uses the Getjar Marketplace. It does not have quite as many apps as the Google Play store, but it is still a good app store. -MR

Q: Ideally I’d like to be able to side-load BBC iplayer programs to my device for watching later on the train; does this tablet support Media Digital Rights Management (DRM) files, so that you don’t need to be near a wifi hotspot to download the rights when you want to play your saved download? Otherwise the iplayer is nowhere nearly as useful, as you need to be able to get online in order to acquire the license to view any downloaded programs.
