I bought this hard drive to put in an Apple Imac to run 2 operating systems side by side (Windows 10 and Mac High Sierra) in a Parallels Desktop. I found it to give excellent performance with quick actions and run quietly at all times. With a reliable brand name and competitive price I was glad I had purchased new having previously had bad experiences with second hand faulty drives of other brands.

Cheap and comes highly recommended by everybody but when put in a Fractal Design Focus G case, it is the loudest part of my build, making an annoying hum louder than everything else. Suspect this could be more to do with the mounting in the case but is worth bearing in mind when buying a spinning drive.

It's a standard hard disk drive, folks! It 'does what it says on the tin': plug it in, set it up for your operating system, and it works (well, strictly, up to now, but I expect a decade or so of use). I would not hesitate to buy another.

Best value for money 1TB HDD out there

Sometimes I can hear it making noises, but that I guess is very normal with mechanical hard-drives. Computer detected it straight away. Also was more careful this time as my previous old hard-drive burned probably due to static - so I got myself an anti-static wrist band to handle this one.

Perfectly reasonable, worked straight as I got it. I would say that if you have your pc on your desk, you can hear a mechanical whirring when it's performing read/write operations. What I've done to mitigate this is to have the HDD turn off after 5 minutes when not in use.

Good hard drive, great value for money. I didnt need lighting fast drives but this is fast enough for what I need it for.

It fitted straight in. It worked from start up and shows pretty much the full drive space from the start so it's compatible with Windows 10 64 bit. I am pleased with the product and also CCl computers with whom I have dealt with for about 3 decades.

Good for mass storage and didnt notice long loading times like 30 seconds at a maximum and the packaging was quite entertaining to pop.

Excellent product. Very easy to install. Booting from a USB Flash disk (created on another pc) is the way to go if you have to do a Windows install. You can't go wrong with Seagate (no I don't work for them).

used the Seagate BarraCuda in one form or another for years. Always reliable and will continue to use in the future. (i use in a work situation and they are well and truly thrashed.)

Arrived very quickly. I was having problems with a disc. Easy to clone my existing back-up disc on to the new one using Macrium Reflect. Then installed & it all worked great.

This product was purchased to replace an eight year old hard drive which was of the same manufacture and specification. The new one is now installed and working fine.

This hard drive has been fitted to my Sons home PC that he uses for gaming and performs perfectly. More importantly the hard drive was extremely well packaged and enclosed in its own air cushion wrapping which for this sort of hardware is vital. Trouble free purchase and fitting which arrived sooner than expected well in time for Christmas. Spot on.

I'm not an expert but this hard drive is working fine since it was installed. It replaced 1 of 2 Western Digital hard drives that have failed after 2 years of use. Both hard drives were purchased at the same time from the same 'local' store.. I will be ordering a second Seagate BarraCuda hard drive to replace the other WD hard drive shortly. Seagate was always on my purchasing list but as the local store doesn't stock this brand I purchased the brand they did stock.

bought this for a new build windows 10 gaming pc. despite all my efforts windows 10 will only recognise it as a 250gb drive. it does work well but i cannot access its full volume size. it was mainly to be used a secondary storage device, as the o/s is on an ssd. good drive for the price, but windows will not recognise it. a windows 10 flaw as opposed to a hdd flaw. overall worth the price and good quality.

I bought the drive to store all my game libraries on. It was easy to install but what 3.5 inch drive isnt. Fast enough for what Im using it for and great value for money would buy again or even one of the bigger drives from the range.
