Do you have you a question about the Western Digital Red 3.0TB Hard Drive?

Q: Do these drives have full 3 yrs warranty, and if so is that with WD or CCL?
Answer by Dan@CCL on 24th December 2015
Yes, these drives have a three year warranty. We would cover the first year, with the remaining time with WD directly. -Danlevan

Answer by Website User on 24th December 2015
So if only the first year of warranty is with CCL, why can I not register an OEM drive with WD for the other 2 years? The response is : "Thank you for registering your product(s), 0 product(s) were registered out of 1. The following asset(s) failed to register: because it’s either an OEM product or the warranty has been voided. For further assistance, please contact the WD support team." Their Warranty Policy shows that for this model warranty does apply to "Component Drives", their definition of which is similar to how OEM would be described. Is there a solution to this?

Answer by Dan@CCL on 24th December 2015
The warranty should register with them, but in any event that you're unable to do so as the original seller we are able to handle the warranty replacement process with the manufacturer on your behalf. -Danlevan
