Do you have you a question about the StarTech.com 7.1 USB Audio Adaptor External Sound Card?

Q: Presumably, I can plug a 3.5mm stereo, analogue audio (from a reel-to-reel tape recorder) in to the line in socket. HOWEVER, I want to convert this into a digital format (eg. wav, or mp3), via Audacity software, so that I can save the file on the computer. Is THIS possible?

Hi, Unfortunately this is not something that we will have tested on our end so could not advise on. I would advise contacting StarTech support directly and they may be able to advise further on this. SM

Q: I have toslink output from my computer. I want to use this box to convert that to 5.1 or 7.1. Will it work in this way?

This would bypass the existing optical output of your computer and would handle the audio by itself. -Danlevan

Q: I have this item. My issue is that when you plug headphones into it, the 5.1 speakers are not cut. Can you please help.
