The WINDFORCE 3X cooling system features 3x 80mm unique blade fans, alternate spinning fan, 4 composite copper heat pipes, heat-pipe direct touch and 3D active fan functionality, together delivering an effective heat dissipation capacity for higher performance at lower temperatures.


The GIGABYTE “Alternate Spinning” is the only solution that can solve the turbulent airflow of three fans. The biggest problem with the three fans is turbulence. Since the fans rotate in the same direction, the airflow direction is opposite between the fans, which will cause turbulent airflow and reduce heat dissipation efficiency. GIGABYTE turns the middle fan in the opposite direction, so that the airflow direction between the two fans is the same, reducing the turbulence and enhancing the airflow pressure.


The airflow is spilt by the triangular fan edge, and guided smoothly through the 3D stripe curve on the fan surface, effectively enhancing the airflow.


The 3D Active Fan provides semi-passive cooling, and the fans will remain off when the GPU is in a low load or low power game. It allows gamers to enjoy gameplay in complete silence when the system is running light or idle. 


The shape of the pure copper heat pipes maximize the direct contact area with the GPU, enhancing heat transfer. The heat pipes also cover the VRAM through a large metal plate contact to ensure proper cooling.


The composite heat-pipe combines thermal conductivity and phase transition to efficiently manage the heat transfer between two solid interfaces which increases cooling capacity.


With 16.7M customizable color options and numerous lighting effects, you can choose lighting effects or synchronize with other AORUS devices. 


The graphics card uses the 6+2 power phase design to allow the MOSFET to operate at lower temperature, and over-temperature protection design and load balancing for each MOSFET, plus the Ultra Durable certified chokes and capacitors, to provide excellent performance and longer system life. (Reference card is 5+2 power phase).


The metal back plate not only provides an aesthetical shape, but also enhances the structure of the graphics card to provide complete protection.

It's price puts it in the same stable as the 5700xt, and I was pretty certain I was going to go with the AMD card right up until the last moment. Performance wise, the 5700xt is slightly ahead, but there isn't much in it and I just felt that the driver support from Nvidia seemed better. Also I would rather have Rtx as an option and not use it than not have it and want it. The appearance of the card itself is pretty subtle by modern standards and only has minimal RGB lighting and monochrome coloured fans etc. Performance wise, I'm using a 3440 x 1440 monitor and it performs brilliantly at this resolution in every game I've played so far. The card also performs really well with VR games. I upgraded from a Gtx1050ti and the difference in performance with VR is astonishing...its like having your eyes opened. Overall I would thoroughly recommend this card.

Great GPU for gaming, in VR at 4k or at 1440p. Recently been using it for Doom Eternal on fully maxed settings with HDR enabled - paired with a Ryzen 3600 absolutely flawless on my Msi 165hz 1440p display. May encounter issues in some games with GSync or FreeSync, but this is variable due to the varying quality of its implementation across games.
