An excellent value motherboard!
I was originally planning to purchase an MSI X570-A PRO motherboard, as it is the cheapest X570 model. As I am not running a 3950X or doing heavy overclocking, I didn't want to pay a fortune for one of the higher end motherboards.
However, after doing more research, I decided to step up to the MSI X570 GAMING EDGE WIFI. The main reason for this is that it has built-in support for both Bluetooth and Wi-Fi. This was especially significant to me as many other X570 motherboards do not support this, and the ones that do cost 50-250 more!
The motherboard has everything I need. Five PCIe slots (one of which is steel-plated), two NVMe slots (one of which has a heatsink), the excellent ALC1220 audio chip, and a whopping eight USB ports in the back (one of which is Type-C). It also offers six SATA ports, when even the much more expensive MSI X570 ACE only has four! Finally, it includes a superior chipset fan compared to competing motherboards, as it utilises MSI's patented Frozr design.
Aesthetically, I'm not super keen on the black, sharp, edgy looks, but I do think it looks better than many competing motherboards. The built-in RGB lighting is a nice plus, as I wasn't expecting to have it on this lower end model!
The packaging was superb, with the motherboard arriving in an anti-static bag, inside a colourful and well-made box. Installation was no problem. My RAM works as expected, which isn't a surprise considering that MSI is known for having superb memory overclocking support.
In summary, this motherboard represents tremendous value. The X570 motherboards range from 170 to 770. At 220, this is in a great sweet spot offering good value for the price point. And it gets better: MSI currently has a special offer going, where they're giving away CPU coolers and Steam vouchers to customers. This is an incredible offer that increases the value of this motherboard even further.
