AMD 3000 Series Desktop Ready

AMD Socket AM4 Compatibility

AMD Ryzen™ 3000 Series Desktop processors are compatible with all 500 Series motherboards out-of-the box, and are compatible with 400 Series and A320 motherboards when a compatible BIOS update has been installed. Please visit the manufacturer’s website for your motherboard to verify support for your processor model, and for guidance on the BIOS update procedure(s). Motherboards with packaging featuring the above logo are compatible without requiring a BIOS update.

AMD Wraith Prism Cooler

Wraith Prism with RGB LED

Strong and Bright

The AMD Wraith Prism represents AMD’s ultimate cooling solution for air-cooled processors. The Wraith Prism goes where no stock cooler has gone before with per-RGB LED control around the illuminated light ring and transparent fan blades for movement and rainbow color effect control. It features direct-contact heat pipes and fan overclocking control to increase thermal effectiveness, too.

Unique Technologies

StoreMI Ryzen Master
AMD StoreMI Technology AMD Ryzen™ Master Utility
SSDs are fast, but expensive, and offer minimal capacity. Mechanical hard drives boast large capacity for a low price, but are much slower than an SSD. AMD StoreMI technology “combines” these two types of storage into a single drive and automatically moves the data you access the most to the SSD. Every AMD Ryzen™ processor is multiplier-unlocked from the factory, so you can personalize performance to your taste. AMD provides the AMD Ryzen™ Master utility to access this powerful advantage.

April 2022

Excellent and high performance CPU

Luke

February 2022

Brilliant. Replaced an aging i5 6600k. A few of my apps are dependant on threads, I've gone from 4 to 16! I researched quite a few Ryzen processors, this certainly came out as one that gives best "bang for buck"

Will ways buy from ccl and will always use ryzen

February 2022

Amazing performance and great value for what you getting.

Mark Armstrong

February 2022

Great product and price

Ken

December 2021

Easy to install in new build although I did not use the good quality included fan. I had not realised how good this was and had bought an alternate fan designed for minimum noise

Andrew

November 2021

Great CPU for the price, as long as you don't need GPU

Richard

September 2021

Upgraded from a 1700X afflicted with the 'performance marginality' issue, but had to use a beta bios for this to boot. At the time it was only slightly more expensive than the 3700X. Compile times are much better. All core boost ends up being 4.2-4.3, and low-core boost 4.6ish. The chip claims to run hot compared to the 1700x, but doesn't seem to heat up the coolant. I've redone the waterblock three times but no change so I think it's just reporting different values to before.

December 2020

Great CPU, with added value for money in the from of a fairly decent RGB cpu cooler included. Compatible with PCIe 4.0 where equivalent intel CPUs currently are not.

August 2020

So easy to overclock my first amd chip was a bit old school with the pins on the chip but was ok to mount had a little bit of a shake on

Jamie McClean

June 2020

Great processor, got it for a fanstic price also good quality silicon cant complain.

Ian Jolliffe

June 2020

Excellent CPU, replaced my old Intel i7-6800K, the only downside being the loss of the Intel Raid facility

Kevin

January 2020

Can't fault it so far. A huge step up from my 2600 but might not be worth the extra money over the 3700x

November 2019

Okay well I gave this 3/5 for value because as we all probably know, the 3700X is the much better buy and this cpu offers nothing above that one. But still, I purchased this and for everything I do, it's amazing. I upgraded from a 4930k which is a 5 year old CPU so your increase in performance might not be the same as mine unless you also upgrade from a much older CPU. For gaming, this is fantastic. Hands down one of the best CPUs you can buy right now. 8 cores and 16 threads will handle anything you throw at it. One minor gripe is that is never hits it's boost clock. AMD stated the boost for this cpu is 4.5ghz but under single core scenarios, it hits 4.3ghz and under all core 4.15ghz, well under its rated boost. This is with the included Wraith RGB cooler which kept it under 75c. Even with Ryzen master, pbo, and the Ryzen power plan, I couldn't get it to hit over 4.1 on all cores. A shame really as this cpu is so powerful at 4.1, I'd love to hit 4.5. As for overclocking, with Ryzen it's a bit hit and miss. Stay at stock and all core won't boost much but single will and if you overclock, all core boosts higher but you lose single core performance compared to stock. So maybe in the future, I'll upgrade the cooler and overclock it but for now, I have no choice but to stay at stock.
