This is a fantastic X470 AM4 chipset motherboard. High-end price but for high-end performance, and cheaper than it's X470 flagship rivals. There's a lot to like about this motherboard; I'll start with one of the major features that it's rivals don't share and that's the 10+2 Phase VRMs coupled with actual fin-array heatsink design, vs the weird metal sculptures of it's competitors. I prefer the aesthetic of the proper heatsink, but more importantly value the more effective cooling power. This allows for more stability on the voltage supply, allowing my 2700x CPU to boost to 4.3GHz without any issues. Additionally it has two heatguards for both M.2 slots which work well enough and install very easily. Moving on, a really nice failsafe mechanism is the Gigabyte DualBios set up. Essentially this board has 2 BIOS chips on it, and you can use a physical switch to switch between them. If you bugger one up, you can switch to the back up and recover the broken one very easily. Next to these switches is a digital POST display for extremely easy diagnosing should your PC fail to boot. Another good feature is the integrated reinforcements for the I/O shield, backplate and for the PCIe and DIMM slots. I love the integrated I/O shield, and all the many USB slots it has (4 x 3.0, 1 x 3.1, 1 x 3.1 type C, and 2 x high amp for fast phone device charging. It also has two buttons for power reset and CMOS clear on the I/O as well. The backplate would be nice for some extra structural rigidity but unfortunately I couldn't fit the board into my case (Fractal Design Define S) without removing it. The extra protection for the PCIe and DIMM slots is also good to have to prevent sagging over time (moreso for the PCIe slots). I'm not into the whole RGB craze but this provides plenty of opportunity for your own unicorn chunder concoctions. All in all, this is a flagship X470 motherboard, with plenty of features to accommodate any kind of build. It feels well made, lots of quality of life and fail safe features, plenty of overclocking potential and I found that all the fan headers and connectors were in well situated convenient places. The BIOS UEFI is relatively easy to navigate if you're into tweaking, although the only option I'd recommend is turning on the XMP profiles for your DDR4 RAM to get them running at the highest possible speed. Finally, because it's AM4 socket type, which is the socket type AMD is going to pushing forward for the foreseeable future, every subsequent Ryzen generation should be compatible if you were to upgrade your CPU, meaning you won't need a new motherboard which is something you may experience going forward with an Intel CPU based platform. Only two things I feel I should mention, it has both an 8 pin and 4 pin CPU power connector, you don't need to plug in both, It'll get by just fine with only an 8 pin plugged in. The extra one is in case you're doing some seriously extreme overclocking and need ALL THE VOLTAGE. The second is the bright red button marked "OC" on the top right hand corner, do not press this button ever. The way it integrates the overclocking solution is not good at all, and you'll probably end up frying some components. Well done Gigabyte.

Looks great, took a few attempts to sort out the settings to get the ram to work at the correct speed 3600mhz but this was probably my fault.

I haven't had any major problems with this motherboard. It supports everything I need to support and I haven't noticed any serious bottlenecks. However, the documentation isn't very clear in places.
