1 Average number of cartridges/savings for printing the number of pages using the bundled ink bottles with the EcoTank range, excluding hardware price. Comparison made on the average of the A4 EcoTank range versus the average of the top 10 best-selling models in Western Europe, in the period January 2017– December 2017, as tracked by GfK. Printing costs calculated on the proportion of Standard and XL cartridges as tracked by GfK for the same reference period for the Western European market, using average retail prices. Ink cartridge yields as communicated by the manufacturer’s websites.
2 Quoted yields are extrapolated based on Epson original methodology from the print simulation of Test Patterns provided in ISO/IEC 24712 based on the replacement ink bottles. Quoted yields are NOT based on ISO/IEC 24711. Quoted yields may vary depending on the images that you are printing, the paper type that you are using, the frequency of your prints and environmental conditions such as temperature. During the initial printer setup, a certain amount of ink is used to fill the print head's nozzles, therefore the yield of the initial bundled set can be lower.

5 / 5 1 review

Paul Milligan

October 2018

The printer was easy to set up and install. It came with 3 years* worth of ink, each colour easily filling the relevant ink tank with a bit to spare. * If I remember correctly 3 years or 6000 pages (average 2000 pages per year). So at least you know the ink will last! Printing speed is very impressive and it is quite too. Only snag I had was with the wireless setup. But I managed to connect to the printer directly and use a web base front end to change the IP address and credentials The Epson site has a guide on this process. Finally the scanner would not work wirelessly at first - all this required was to visit the Epson site and download the latest scanner drivers for this model. Once installed (and a reboot required) scanning worked. So not entirely flawless (for me) but not impossible to get going with the correct help. I've printed various documents off and most impressed with the colour and monochrome outputs. You may wish to note that the printer software tells you where to place envelopes, cards, photo stock etc. And finally the ink is cheap. Around 9 per bottle, not bad for 3 years. Hopefully this printer will last longer than my Kodak which decided not yo work anymore after 1 year; same as my previous Kodak and it happened to my parent's too so no coincidence!
