Q: The description lists the versions of windows it is compatible with. Will it be OK with mac too? Running Mountain Lion or Mavericks?
Answer by Dan@CCL on 23rd March 2015
Theoretically yes, as I don't believe it requires a driver to run as it's simply an interface but as the manufacturer doesn't list Mac support I couldn't guarantee it and we don't have a Mac to test with. -Danlevan

Q: Is this compatible with 2.0 usb ? Thanks
Answer by Website User on 27th December 2013
just got one of these - found that it didnt work from a USB2 port using the supplied USB3 lead ( makes the required USB 'beep' but throws up a not recognised error message) - but works OK with a normal USB2 lead ( printer type)

Q: CIT External USB 3.0 Caddy is not recognised at all in Win7 when plugged into a USB 3.0 port. It is however correctly recognised and installed when connecting to USB2.0 port and with the advisory message that this drive could work faster in a USB 3.0 port! The drive then works ok but unfortunately only at 15mb/s USB 2.0 speeds. I have a Seagate expansion drive already connected to USB 3.0 which works at between 50-100 mb/s so I know the USB 3.0 host drivers are working fine. Any advice or have I just bought a USB 2.0 drive caddy in Wolfs clothing? Many thanks for your help Duncan Kirk
Answer by CCL on 4th June 2013
It sounds like there is a fault with either the drive or the cable that is preventing it from correctly communicating by USB 3.0. I'd suggest contacting technical@cclonline.com and we'd likely arrange a return to get this back to us for replacement. -Danlevan

It works as it's meant to; cheap but not necessarily cheerful. Holds the hard drive securely inside. My main issue is it comes with feet, and holes to screw the feet in, but no screws to do that with. At least it looks nice.

Great, neat little enclosure. But power supply is rubbish, creates radio interference (even through surge protector etc). If it wasn't for the fact I had a decent spare power adaptor, it would have been sent back.
