MSI MPG Z490 GAMING EDGE WIFI Intel Motherboard

This is the second time Ive done a build with a version of this Motherboard, I just built a water cooled Gaming PC for a client who wanted a Ryzen 9 5900x and an RTX 3080, and had a 2500 budget, so I used the AMD version of this motherboard. Then Last month (March 2022) I built a gaming PC for a streamer that could run Elden Ring, and because was streaming the build put a price limit of 500. So I used this Motherboard again and paired it with an intel i5 10400k. Its a sold motherboard with space for 2 M.2 drives and a USB-C front panel header, which is always something to look out for when building a streaming PC if you want a multi camera setup as most decent webcams run USB-C these days. This motherboard really falls right in the sweet spot between price and quality, its reasonably cheap at 100-120 depending on whether you get the wifi version. I got the wifi version because the last build I did for myself I thought well its connected using ethernet so I dont need wifi forgetting of course that this meant I now had no bluetooth either. I love this motherboard its easy to use and it looks bad ass, the RGBs are subtle enough that you can almost forget about them. I would absolutely recommend this motherboard to anyone whos got their build chosen and has a 100-120 budget for the motherboard.

Easy to navigate bios. Great for OC'ng and value of money in gaming boards. It has wifi6 and great VRM's in its lineup. And its one of the coolest looking z490 board out there. Definitely worth it

This motherboard has allowed me to appreciate the Z490 platform a lot more. I originally purchased a gigabyte motherboard and did not have a good experience due to whining from the VRMs. Luckily the gaming edge wifi has very good VRMs that allowed me to achieve a 5 GHz all-core clock on my i7 10700k. It also comes with a software called dragon centre which allowed me to also control my case fans by connecting the ARGB 3 pin header to the motherboard. The biggest advantage is the wifi and Bluetooth support allowing me to seamlessly connect my Bluetooth headphones. The cooling for m.2 drives is excellent keeping my Sabrent SSD nice and cool. I wish they included a second m.2 frozr cooling shield but at least one is better than nothing! Overall I would highly recommend this motherboard due to the stylish looks and great bluetooth support 5.1 support.

At first i was looking for a great value motherboard on PC part picker so i could save as much money as possible but then this came up and i took some time to look into it and its exceptionally built this product looks good as well fits in with rest of the build well, and able to overclock new 10700k very well.

Really pleased with this motherboard. Was looking for a feature rich board that could handle my overclocked 10700k and this does it perfectly. The VRM runs cool and as an added plus it has built-in wifi. Of course it has the obligatory RGB lighting which I don't use but if you do it has it. I don't think you can get a better motherboard in this price range.

I found this very easy to install as a first-time builder. The manual was very clear and I had no trouble attaching the components. The little bit of RGB is a nice addition, as is the integrated IO shield.

Easy to install and use, great features including multiple fan ports, LED on board + LED controller ports, many USB and Sata ports. Bios is very easy to use and gives you quick OC settings plus advanced options to control it all by yourself.

This motherboard is truly amazing, this is the second one i have bought as my mate asked me to build him a pc, so I instantly new what motherboard I was going to use, goes hand in hand with 10th gen intel, I have been that impressed with this model and msi that I have since purchased alot of MSI products they have earnt my loyalty as a lifetime customer. At the end of the day you get what you pay for and MSI do it right well worth the price tag. If your questioning what motherboard to buy I recommend MSI.

The motherboard came well packaged in a sturdy box which gave me no concerns that it would be damaged during delivery. The board is sturdy and has fitted well into my case. It has plenty of USB slots and the Wifi connection is solid. I am getting a steady 200mb/s download speed with it which is the same as I'm getting from a wired connection in the house. I have had MSI products for about 10 years now and have yet to have an issue with any of them! I recommend this board and especially at its current price with the MSI cashback and free Valhalla offer!

The MSI z490 Gaming Edge motherboard is a great value for money motherboard for only 200-ish quid with nothing much else I could ask for at this price point. ---Packaging--- The packaging which the motherboard is in is pretty standard. I had absolutely zero concerns with it and the motherboard somehow getting damaged during shipping. ---The VRM--- The VRM (Voltage regulation modules) is what powers your CPU. I've put in a 10700k into this and the VRM powers it easially and doesn't get hot. However, under stress there is coil whine but it isn't that noticable (especially with headphones). ---The motherboard--- The rest of the motherboard is actually really good too, there isn't many obvious things that I can complain about. It's pretty sturdy feeling. The IO on the back has plenty of USB ports. The built in IO shield is nice and I'm happy to see that they're starting to become more and more common. The debug LEDs were actually useful when I was overclocking my RAM and told me whenever I failed although the BIOS also would automatically revert to standard settings whenver an overclock failed. WIFI 6 + Bluetooth 5 preformance is also wonderful, no issues connecting with wireless earbuds or my WIFI network. Finally, the M.2 cooler is pretty hefty and probably cools my M.2 drive really well. ---Conclusion--- Overall, this motherboard is really good value for money. It's inclusion of WIFI 6 and not 5 and bluetooth sweetens the deal as well. Unless you really are an overclocking enthusiast that does need a stronger power delivery system to the CPU or require features which are only available on more expensive motherboards I don't really see a point in getting anything else.

Great Motherboard, highly recommended

This mobo is high quality. It is heavy because it has substantial heatsink including one for the NVME drive (although Gamers Nexus says that cooling NVME could have a negative effect). The Wifi built into the motherboard is good and has a very good reception, it also come with Bluetooth which comes in handy so you can connect a Xbox controller without the need of using a USB slot. You can control the onboard RGB lighting using the Dragon centre software and you can change your Fan arcs in the bios. There is also the ability to use addressable RGBs and be able to control them using the dragon centre. On the Board itself it has 2 "rainbowRGB" headers which allows you to plug in the addressable rgbs directly. there is also 2 Normal RGB headers on the board that can be used. All in all it is a very nice looking and functional with a lot of features that I don't understand. i would recommend this motherboard. The pic is it installed in my be quiet silent 800 case to show how big it is.

First time I have built a computer in 20 years. MSI motherboard looks well built, has lots of connections for Fans, external USB 2.0, USB 3, 3.1 & 3.2 gen 2 external ports. Wifi 6 is brilliant and also Bluetooth has exceptional range. PCI slot is good and 2 x M.2 SSD slots and 4 x DDR4 slots to boot. The new Z490 chipset allows you to overclock the new 10th gen corei9 CPU in every detail, which will please the gamers out there. Even has Mystic lighting control... Powered it up and worked straight out of the box. Good value for money for a near top end motherboard, but at an affordable cost.

I upgraded from MSI Z77A-GD65 and intel i7 3770k to MSI MPG Z490 Gaming Edge Wifi and i5 10500. Old MSI motherboard served me fantastic for 8 years with no problems at all so I decided to buy MSI motherboard. It works great with RTX2060 in all new games in full HD and very high details. Msi motherboard have wifi so I can connect to my old tv via amazon firestick with no problem. Temperatures of CPU (37C in idle 49 gaming - room temperature 30C) and GPU (40C in idle 73C gaming - room temperature 30C). Intel XMC memory profile works without any problem on 3200MHz. I can easily recommend MSI MPG Z490 for gaming PC.
