I installed this motherboard as part of a complete system build inside a Lian Li O11D Evo. For readers who don't know what this case looks like, it is definitely for those who like to show off what's powering their PC. Keeping that in mind, my observation that this motherboard is quite discreet may seem like it runs counter to what one would want from a motherboard on display, but for me at least, the fact there is no RGB, bright colours or flashy logos is a positive. It means focus is placed on the GPU, the fans, the RAM and the cooler, all of which light the case up perfectly well. This is a subjective assessment, but this is definitely a motherboard for those who believe motherboards are a means to an end and should blend into the background, especially if the case itself is a darker colour More objectively, the build quality is good; everything felt well put together during the build process and i've had no issues with reliability so far. Ports are plentiful, it runs cool and my understanding from reading reviews of this product is that the VRMs which regulate power delivery are good quality This is not the cheapest board, especially relative to a similar spec X570 AMD board. Prices can seem a little steep but I think that's more Intel's doing than MSI's as all rival boards with similar specs cost a similar amount. If you can look past that, I would say this is a good choice when paired with a 12700k or above. for a 12600k or lower, perhaps consider the MSI Z690 Pro or a B660 board. B660 boards won't allow for as much overclocking potential but are priced commensurately lower

So, I shall start by saying, MSI have to be one of, if not the best for motherboards. The features and build quality are next to none for the price point. I recently upgraded from my i5 6600k to an i5 12600k and as almost always with intel, that requires a socket change. But given the 7-year gap I didn't mind so much. Given that the i5 12600k is a mid to high end CPU, I also wanted to reflect a similar price point in the motherboard, while keeping the same quality. I wanted something stylish, stealthy and no compromise on the features. The tomahawk z690 ticked all those boxes. Showing a true premium look to the motherboard with the black PCB board, large metal heatsinks, IO shroud and M.2 heatsinks (which help keep the drives unbelievably cool!), all in a black steel look. Meaning this will fit into virtually any build or style. The motherboard features plenty of USB connections, with 8 on the rear of the board (USB 3.2 : 1(Gen 2x2, Type C), 3(Gen 2, Type A), 2(Gen 1, Type A) & 2 USB 2.0 ports.) so if you have plenty of peripherals then that shouldnt be a problem, not to mention the additional headers to connect the ports already on the case itself. Now this is the DDR4 version of the board which at this point in time is the more sensible option at this price point as DDR5 is incredibly expensive and personally isnt really warranted for my current use of the hardware, as with gaming the difference is very minimal. There is plenty of ARGB (3 rainbow headers 1 RGB header) and fan headers located on the motherboard itself, being 1x 4 pin CPU header, 1x AIO pump header & 6 x system fan headers! Plenty of room for cooling! Storage is also something this board isnt short of as it features 4 M.2 slots, 2 of them being PCIE gen 4 and 6 Sata 6gb connections, so no need to worry about future and current storage options. All in all, I truly love this piece of kit and would recommend to anyone looking to build a mid to high end system without the compromises.

Main board is well designed and made. It is easy to assemble the configuration. Despite the average price range, it has very good quality components were used to build it, which ensuring very good audio quality, network bandwidth and a stable power supply section. After using it couple of month I don't see any faults. I can recommend it very easily for anyone who is planning to buy it.

Speedy delivery of this great addition to my self-build pc. There was slight damage to one of the SSD heatsink clips, preventing it from locking in place, but not worth the hassle of returning (nothing that a piece of blu-tack can't fix!)

Bought this mobo a while ago, using it with my new i7, and works amazing, bios is different from any I used before but it's easy to use! And a good amount of connections on the mobo as I was struggling with USB ports before!

It's a great board for my purposes, with plenty of I/O and four M.2 slots, as well as Wifi capability. I think it's good value for money, however the Z690-A PRO is a cheaper variant with similar VRM and memory OC performance, but trading off some I/O. Conversely, the Z690 EDGE is slightly more expensive but adds more I/O and is a somewhat prettier board. Nevertheless, the Z690 TOMAHAWK is still very good value.

Decided to build an Alder Lake desktop, looking around at my motherboard options this was the best board in its price range that included WIFI built in as I have no simply way to route an ethernet cable around my house. But if I do need to use LAN it has 2.5Gbps. I have two m.2 this still leaves me wit h2 available on the board if I need to add more storage in the future. Was simple to setup with plenty of internal and external I/O ports and installing the drivers was a breeze once booted into Windows. The BIOS is easy to navigate to enable XMP to take full advantage of my 3600 DDR4 RAM. And best of all for me is the atheistic of the board fits in perfectly with the other components in my case, love it and couldn't be happier with my purchase.

Features are very good and wifi + bluetooth is apreciated. The design is understated and clean. Looks great. Comes with a good package with usb and drivers. BIOS is easy enough to use and full of options etc.
