Intel Xeon & HEDT Processors for Socket 2011-v3

Intel's processors for Socket 2011-v3 are designed for High End Desktops, or "HEDT". They generally have the highest core and thread counts, quad-channel memory support and have the latest technologies.

There are two ranges available. There is a Core™ i7 range that covers consumer processors, and the Xeon® range which are designed for server use and include suitable technologies such as ECC memory support. Both ranges use X99 chipset motherboards.

These processors have been superseeded by the X-Series, which use Socket 2066 and X299 motherboards. The Xeon® range now uses Socket 3647.
