Gigabyte Z77 Motherboard Line-up and Feature Comparison

Steve takes a look at 3 choice Gigabyte Z77 boards for a rundown on features and some insight into which one may suit your needs.

Gigabyte have a wide range of motherboards on the market and if you’re looking at building a system around the latest Intel Ivy Bridge technology then you’re probably going to be building around the Intel® Z77 Express Chipset but with such a range of Z77 boards available from Gigabyte, which one is going to be right for you?

I decided to take a look at three of my choice boards from Gigabytes Z77 line-up which I believe should cover every possible application in the home and in the office.

The first board we’ll be looking at is ideal for any build where space and portability are vital and when it comes to that the Mini-ITX form factor is king. If you’re looking to build a media centre or wanting to build an ultra-portable gaming machine for taking to gaming events and LANs then look no further than the Z77N-WiFi.

Sporting Gigabytes Ultra Durable 4 logo you can rest assured that this board already ticks all the boxes for quality and reliability, when you then take into account the PCI-Express 3.0, Dual Gigabit LAN Ports, HDMI Output and as the name suggests – On-Board WiFi you have yourself a feature packed board in an ultra-compact form factor.

Second in our line-up is a sleek m-ATX form factored board aimed at end users wanting performance and reliability without building an intrusive ATX form factor system that you may not want or may not have the desk space for.

Still sporting the Ultra Durable 4 logo the quality is already set to Gigabytes high standard, as standard. With the on-board graphics options available with Intel’s HD graphics Gigabyte have been sure to equip this board with the options for us to utilize this supplying us with the option for VGA,  DVI-I and HDMI. With all the added expandability to boot; including plenty of SATA ports and an abundance of PCI-Express ports means the Z77MX-D3H quickly becomes a solid foundation for a great system.

If it’s raw potential and power you’re after then look no further than the third board in the line-up.

We’ve already established the standardisation of Ultra Durable 4 on these boards and you’re safe to assume this one’s got the same seal of quality and reliability on it.

Ideal for power users and enthusiasts looking to build a high performance system with plenty of additional options available such as as overclocking and multi-GPU support the Z77X-D3H is delivering features on all fronts, more USB 3.0 ports than you can shake a stick at (A memory stick that is), CrossFire and SLi support is available if you’re looking for a dual GPU configuration and with the 3D Power - All Digital Power Engine overclocking comes naturally to this board, team this up with a K series Intel CPU and you can build one seriously powerful machine around this board.
