Times move forward, new hardware gets released and old hardware has to be laid to rest, this is no big revelation and of course no big surprise. Starting already with Q4 2012 and through to Q2 2013 AMD is set to retire a few of their Zambezi desktop FX cores, replacing them with the new and improved Vishera coares. So expect to see price drops and sales on this hardware over the next few months as the manufacturer looks to shift out the old to make room for the new.

Retired in Q1
FX 8150 (eight-core)
FX 6200 (six-core)
FX 4170 (quad-core)

Retired in Q2
FX 8120
FX 6100
FX 4130
FX 4100

Of course with all these cuts being made to the range, we need some fresh blood to take their place, so AMD will bring in the new FX 8350 and FX 8320 Eight Core 125W chips, then the FX 6300 Six Core 95W and finally the FX 4300 Quad Core 95W which have already been available since October.
