The AMD 7000 range of card has so far been a success but much like any generation of cards there are more revisions that I have hot meals in a month. But there is nothing wrong with choice and certainly not if those changes and revisions improve performance and reduce costs.
The new card from Powercolor will be part of the HD 7800 range of cards, their Powercolor HD 7850 Fling Force Edition will feature:
• 1024 stream processors
• 910MHz GPU Clock
• 4.8GHz Memory Clock
• 2GB GDDR5 Memory
• 256-bit memory interface
• DVI, HDMI and DisplayPort outputs
Given the specification, I would expect this card to be a strong contender for price vs performance, something that has been true of many AMD partner cards for years now. The "Fling Force Edition" keeps adding features though with the addition of extra fan blades, which apparently add 10 percent extra airflow, which should help cool the card more efficiently.
On top of that we also have the Glod Power Kit, a design that features lots of nice components such as PowerPAK SO-8, Ferrite Core Choke and solid capacitors, which will go a long way to providing better power efficiency to the card and hopefully making it a great overclocker.
