AMD Radeon to offer big-hitting graphics bundle

The Never Settle bundle is the manufacturer's biggest giveaway yet

Games only seem to come in bundles these days, have you noticed that? The Humble Bundle, the Indie Bundle. The Humble Indie Bundle. So it's unsurprising, really, that video card manufacturer Radeon has joined the bundle club with a smorgasboard of free titles given away with its latest graphics card.

According to Venture Beat, the AMD Radeon 7900 will come bundled together with three big-hitting titles and a further 20 per cent discount on another in an effort to boost a flagging sales quarter by going after gamers.

Okay, drumroll: those three titles are Far Cry 3, Hitman: Absolution and Sleeping Dogs. A further discount will be offered on Medal of Honor: Warfighter.

The whole scheme is known as the 'Never Settle' bundle, and includes three full video game titles along with the 7900 series card. Other mix-and-match options will be available for those buying separate hardware: gamers investing in the AMD Radeon HD 7800 or the 7770 GHz Edition will get Far Cry 3 and the Warfighter discount, while those who buy a pair of HD 7850 series of HD 7770 GHz E series cards will get both Far Cry and Hitman. You'll have to pick up a 7900 for all three titles.

It's hoped that this will nudge a few more PC gamers in the direction of the right gaming card, too. Want to recreate the full, lush glory of the islands on Far Cry? Then pick up a 7700. For the moody, precise atmospherics of Hitman, the 7850 HD might be better suited. And while the practice of bundling games along with video cards is about as old as both games and video cards, its safe to say the Never Settle bundle is one of the better offerings, with three AAA releases scheduled for this Autumn.

"This is the single most important game bundle of the year for Radeon," said AMD product marketing manager Robert Hallock, calmly, without hyperbole. "This is the biggest graphics bundle we have ever offered, and this is probably the biggest graphics card bundle that has ever been offered in the graphics industry."ADNFCR-1220-ID-801474682-ADNFCR
