Resident Evil 6, the next instalment in the hit survival horror series, will offer gamers the opportunity to see what life is like on the other side, as a new mode lets them play as the zombies.

An article from the website Famitsu translated by Andriasang detailed the Agent Hunt mode, which puts players in the shoes of a J'avo creature, tasked with stalking out and killing the main human characters.

It is to be integrated into the main storyline and will be made available once the title has been completed, opening up some stages for Agent Hunt play.

While in the new mode, other players can drop into a game to take control of one of the monsters, although the people playing as human characters will not know which ones are computer controlled or not.

The new game mode sounds like it bears resemblance to Left 4 Dead's versus mode and Dark Soul's randomised multiplayer experience, making sure to add a great deal of extra tension to the forthcoming game.

It has also been confirmed from the same article, although this time translated by Siliconera, that Resident Evil 6 will have an extra story campaign. Focused around the character Ada Wong, it will only be unlocked once players have completed the three other campaigns: Leon S. Kennedy's, Jake Muller's and Chris Redfield's.

Ada Wong's campaign will be different in that it will not have any co-operative play, instead working alone with her crossbow and time bombs for company.

She first made an appearance in Resident Evil 2 and then later got her own campaign in the Nintendo Wii and PlayStation 2 versions of Resident Evil 4.

Resident Evil 6 is due for release on October 2nd on Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3, with the PC version coming later.ADNFCR-1220-ID-801421267-ADNFCR
