Total War: Shogun 2 gets desync bug patch

Total War: Shogun 2 gets a new patch to improve its multiplayer performance and visuals.

An update has been released for the real-time strategy game Total War: Shogun 2 in order to fix the multiplayer desync bugs.

The patch should stop multiplayer campaign games from desynchronising. Players simply have to have the PCs running the campaign to join up every now and then to make sure that everything is in its right place.

In addition, the update adds a number of visual tweaks, including a shader that will "improve lighting in battles throughout the game", smoother horse animation transitions and the title's compatibility with Radeon HD7 cards has been boosted.

A number of other bugs have been patched too, ensuring that the Japanese war experience is as hiccup-free as possible.

Anyone who does not own the game should make the most of its rock bottom price as part of the Steam summer sale.

Just for today, the entire Total War series can be bought for just £8.74 in what is dubbed the "Mega Pack". It is 75 per cent cheaper than its list price and includes Medieval II: Total War, Medieval II: Total War Kingdoms, Rome: Total War Gold, Rome: Total War Alexander, Empire: Total War and Napoleon: Total War, as well as an array of extra contents that include new missions and units.
