Battlefield 4 officially confirmed by EA

Battlefield 4 has been confirmed in passing by EA, as it reveals how to gain access to the game's exclusive beta.

Electronic Arts (EA) has revealed that Battlefield 4 is officially in development, with a beta set to take place in autumn 2013.

Exclusive access to the test period of the next instalment in DICE's first person shooter series will be available to players who pre-order the limited edition version of Medal of Honor Warfighter ahead of its release on October 23rd.

Nothing else is known about the upcoming title, as EA simply confirmed its existence in passing and said more details will be revealed at a later date.

"Though Battlefield and Medal of Honor Warfighter each offer players a completely unique experience, they are united by their underlying technology base — Frostbite. These are two of the hottest shooters, coming together to deliver a one-two punch of action, intensity and shooter entertainment," said Frank Gibeau, president of EA Labels.

Medal of Honor Warfighter is a direct sequel to the series reboot released in 2010, aptly titled Medal of Honor, which introduced a modern setting to the video games.

Warfighter has been inspired by real life solders, operations and locations that will see gamers rescuing hostages in Abu Sayyaf's fortress in the Philippines and assaulting the "pirate town" ruled by Al-Shabaab on the Somali Coast.

While the single player campaign will take gamers all over the world, the multiplayer mode is also set to introduce international Tier 1 Operators from ten nations across the globe, so players can show their patriotic pride proudly online.

"Frostbite 2 is an amazingly powerful technology that challenges us to break the multiplayer mold," said Greg Goodrich, executive producer of Medal of Honor Warfighter.

"The unique premise of global warfighters in Medal of Honor Warfighter has inspired us to pioneer new multiplayer concepts such as Fire Teams and the idea of having Tier 1 Operators from around the world go head-to-head in online competition."ADNFCR-1220-ID-801410438-ADNFCR
