Baldur's Gate: Enhanced Edition to get DLC treatment

Baldur's Gate: Enhanced edition is to expand on the content of the original with downloadable content.

Fans of the classic role playing series Baldur's Gate eagerly anticipating the upcoming Enhanced Edition can now look forward to completely new content.

Developers Overhaul Games are promising new characters and storylines available as downloadable content (DLC).

The firm has also promised that the new version of Baldur's Gate, and its expansion Baldur's Gate: Tales of the Sword Coast, will be more than just a remake, assuring fans that there will be a number of differences between the two.

Some of the features in the new title include a raised level cap, which gives gamers some space to improve their characters, voice acting and a harder challenge from new bonus quest enemies.

New music will provided by Sam Hulick, who is best known for his role in scoring video game developer BioWare's Mass Effect trilogy.

"The music of Baldur’s Gate and Baldur’s Gate II was a huge inspiration for me as a composer who was just venturing forth into the world of writing music for games. So to be able to travel back in time, so to speak, and score original material for the Baldur’s Gate saga is a dream come true for me," said Mr Hulick.

Famed art director Nat Jones has also joined the team, bringing his incredible dark fantasy style that he has honed in the film and comic industries on productions such as 28 Days Later, Spawn and 30 Days of Night to name a few.

Mr Jones will be using his own interpretations of Baldur's Gate's adventures, characters and locations in the Forgotten Realms universe in order to give the title a fresh look for modern gamers.

"I am excited and honoured to be a part of the talented team bringing Baldur’s Gate back to the fans. There is a lot going into Baldur’s Gate: Enhanced Edition, we have some amazing things in the works", he said.ADNFCR-1220-ID-801399529-ADNFCR
