Mass Effect 3 Rebellion pack launched

Rebellion pack updates Mass Effect 3 with exciting new multiplayer content.

A new update to the action role-playing game Mass Effect 3 entitled Rebellion has been launched, bringing more gear, weapons, maps and kits to all owners of the game at no cost.

Developers BioWare have detailed exactly what's in the pack, with the new multiplayer content the pick of the bunch.

It opens up two new battles against the ominous Reapers. The first takes place at Firebase Jade's jungle reservoir and a second one at Firebase Goddess on Thessia.

Firebase Jade is surrounded by waterfalls and was built centuries ago by the salarians. Gamers will be tasked with clearing each room in a main building on the base by using effective chokepoints to win the battle.

Meanwhile, Firebase Goddess is the central hub of Thessia and one of the last bastions of asari resistance in the battle against the Reapers. It has a circular layout, which makes it very difficult to control. Players must use high positions and plenty of cover to defeat their enemy.

Three new in-game weapons have been introduced, entitled the Reegar Carbine, Krysae Sniper Rifle and Cerberus Harrier. Of particular note is the sniper rifle, which has been specifically designed to take out Reapers with armour piercing, explosive ammunition and a sight that adjusts depending upon range.

A whole new host of equipment and consumables have also been added to the game, as well as six new characters: the Vorcha Soldier, Vorcha Sentinel, Male Quarian Engineer, Male Quarian Infiltrator, Ex-Cerberus Vanguard and Ex-Cerberus Adept.

The Rebellion update should just be a teaser for gamers awaiting a big summer update from BioWare, which will include content to expand upon the original ending of the game. Gamers expressed great disappointment with the lack of variation in the different endings, despite the emphasis on moral choice throughout all three games. It was also deemed to lack closure and leave plot holes.ADNFCR-1220-ID-801375385-ADNFCR
