Resident Evil: Operation Raccoon City launched on PC

A new Resident Evil game is available to PC users.

The release of a major new title is sure to be welcomed by enthusiastic PC gamers, meaning today (May 18th) provides an important moment for many, as the new Resident Evil: Operation Raccoon City production has been launched for the platform.

Electronic Theatre suggests reviews of the title in its PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 formats have been "mixed", but that is not to say the PC version of the game will not go down well with consumers. Indeed, the fact it is arriving approximately two months after it was first made available on consoles could mean developers have ironed out any of the creases that made its use on other portals imperfect.

It is said to follow a similar theme to Resident Evil 2 and follows some of the same plot as the classic game. However, it boasts an "all-new perspective" and there are a number of characters who are introduced to fans of the Resident Evil series for the very first time.

The PC game runs on Games for Windows, which is created by Microsoft Studios, while there is the potential to play online. Prior to its release, Electronic Theatre suggested the launch of Resident Evil: Operation Raccoon City is "welcome" in the industry.

Its creators might now be hoping to replicate the success of other recent titles that have hit the market. For instance, it was recently confirmed that popular ghost game Dear Esther has passed the 100,000 mark in terms of sales since it was launched. Developer Robert Briscoe admitted he had been "taken aback" by how well the title has done.

Others in the sector might now be hoping to be equally as delighted with the performance of Resident Evil: Operation Raccoon City now it is finally on offer to PC gamers around the country.ADNFCR-1220-ID-801366877-ADNFCR
