Massively multiplayer online role playing game (MMO) Star Wars: The Old Republic is to be updated with patch 1.2 tomorrow that brings the title an array of new content.

The focal point of the update is the introduction of the brand new Legacy system. The feature allows gamers to create a family tree by connecting multiple characters, which allows for extra skills and abilities to be unlocked that would otherwise be unavailable.

As players increase their Legacy level they will also gain extra items for their ship, such as a mailbox and a Global Trade Network Terminal, among others, as well as unlock new species for any character class.

A new Operation entitled Explosive Conflict is to be added to the game. It plays out after a battle between Imperial raiders against mercenaries supported by the Republic has come to an end on the planet Denova.

Both sides have now sworn allegiance to a warlord, which neither side is particularly happy about. Gamers are, therefore, sent in to smooth things out on the planet, and earn some brand new items in the process.

A new Flashpoint has also been added to the game that picks up the plot directly after the occurrences during Kaon Under Siege. After finding out who was complicit in the breakout of the Rakghoul virus that tore apart Tion Hegemony, you and your teammates are sent on a mission to the tiny island of Ord Mantell to confront the person responsible.

Obviously gamers will have to battle through “endless hordes of twisted creatures” to reach the dastardly chap, but I'm sure the opportunity to replace his spinal cord with a light sabre will be worth it.

Other features to be added to game include guild banks, improved textures, big changes to the crafting system and a customisable user interface.ADNFCR-1220-ID-801337621-ADNFCR
