Gigabyte launches 7 series motherboards

Gigabyte has officially announced its new 7 series motherboards and the accompanying technical upgrades ahead of the release of the third generation of Intel Core processors.

Leading motherboard and graphics card manufacturer Gigabyte has launched its eagerly anticipated 7 series motherboard that aims to bring the best possible performance and support to Intel's third generation Core processors.

The motherboards combine new innovations such as the world's first Dual UEFI 3D BIOS, new All Digital power design and Gigabyte's own Ultra Durable 4 technologies.

Dual UEFI 3D BIOS create a completely new way to interact with the motherboard's BIOS settings through an updated display. Two modes entitled 3D Mode and Advanced Mode gives the BIOS user experience a new feel that is far more intuitive due to the graphical interface.

The All Digital engine provides users with greater control over how much power is delivered to the motherboard's processor. This allows for greater precision to components that are typically energy sensitive.

Lastly, Ultra Durable 4 technologies increase the resilience of the motherboard, diminishing the possibility of malfunction. Typical threats such as humidity and moisture, sudden power loss, high temperature or electro-static discharge are significantly reduced.

Henry Kao, the vice president of Gigabyte Motherboard Business Unit, said: “The new Gigabyte 7 series motherboards are designed to offer a seamless upgrade for enthusiast PC DIYers by providing specifications and features that will be compatible with future CPUs, VGA cards, memory, SSDs, and wireless protocols for years to come."

He explained that installing the new motherboard will prepare PC users to integrate the upcoming third generation Intel Core processors.

"Intel is excited to partner with Gigabyte on their Intel 7 Series Chipset-based motherboard launch," said Zane Ball of GM Intel Desktop Platforms.

“We are pleased that these new boards support Intel’s responsiveness technologies, including Intel Rapid Start, Intel Smart Connect and Intel Smart Response. Users will enjoy snappier performance and quicker access to their most important applications.”

The exact cost of 7 series models is unknown at present but the kit could be a sound piece of investment for those looking to upgrade to the new generation of Intel Core chips.ADNFCR-1220-ID-801336139-ADNFCR
