Dark Souls PC port almost certain

The Dark Souls PC port is all but confirmed.

The Japanese action role-playing game Dark Souls, which has been released on Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 is almost guaranteed to be ported to PC.

A teaser statement has gone on the game’s Facebook page, stating that an announcement is coming and asking fans to share the page.

Gamers are then asked to like a new Dark Souls app in order to break down a wall to reveal what is behind it. So far around 6,000 people have liked the app.

In addition, a teaser image has been published in PC PowerPlay that more or less confirms the existence of the port.

The game’s developer, Namco Bandai, has been expected to announce the port for a while now. A petition asking the company to release it on PC has reached over 90,000 signatures since January 6th.

“Dark Souls is a critically acclaimed game, developed by From Software, known for its high level of difficulty and innovative online features. The problem? It's not on PC!” the petition reads.

“A port may also mean that the area's in the game, such as Blighttown, won't suffer from slowdown. An online oriented video game is also perfect for the capabilities of a PC.”

The game is known for being relentlessly unforgiving, tormenting console gamers throughout the 100 or so hours it takes to complete.

It has received universal critical acclaim upon its release since gamers got their hands on it in late 2011.

The game follows the protagonist in a medieval fantasy world that is overrun by Undead.

It is seen as the spiritual successor to Demon’s Souls, which was released in 2009 on PlayStation 3. Like Dark Souls, it was renowned for being painfully difficult and was set in a similar dark fantasy universe.ADNFCR-1220-ID-801323150-ADNFCR
