Fancy a computer for a desk?

A new computer manufacturer is building computers into desks.

Red Harbinger has taken the idea of space saving to the next level as the bespoke boutique systems maker is creating a desk with a state-of-the-art computer built inside it.

If you find the constraints of a traditional PC tower case a little too restrictive for your expansive component needs then this innovative approach to computer design could be the answer.

The project, entitled Cross, has space for two full-sized computers, three monitors and 28 hard drives. Then to make sure the latest state-of-the-art hardware does not get too hot, it has space for 14 fans and four water cooling radiators.

The Cross has a multitude of parts from different manufacturers under the hood.

These include an Intel i7 3930K/3960X, Asus Rampage IV Extreme, 36GB worth of Quad Channel 2133Mhz DDR3 RAM, six Corsair Force Series GT 60GB SATA3 hard drives, a Highpoint Rocketraid 2722 8x SAS and a Cooler Master Silent Pro M2 Dual Rail 1500W power supply.

Obviously aesthetics are a big part of the high-end gaming experience, so the desk is chock full of customisable LEDs so that the corner of your room can be illuminated by its effervescent glow.

There has been no word on the price of the Cross or on when the gaming rig will be commercially available. This is because the people at Red Harbinger are awaiting news from suppliers, but the company assures its fans that it will remain competitively priced without skimping on quality.

The people at Red Harbinger are not the first to endeavour to create a desk inside a computer.

A 30-year old Dutch man created a similar piece of kit in the Cooler Master 2011 Case Mod competition and other individuals have embarked upon similar endeavours, but this could be the first time one is sold commercially.

However, if you have a wealth of spare time, expert computer construction knowledge and money to spare, then why not pick up your toolkit and give it a go yourself?ADNFCR-1220-ID-801321290-ADNFCR
