Resident Evil 6 arrives in November

Capcom is promising a fright like you've never had before with Residential Evil 6.

Gamers would be well advised to enjoy their summer in 2012, because Resident Evil will be back to scare everyone witless in November.

The PC release will follow shortly after the PlayStation 3 and Xbox versions hit the shelves on November 20th, Capcom has confirmed.

Announcing the release, Capcom has provided gamers with an extended three-minute trailer featuring shots from the title.

Whereas the older versions were not games to play with the lights off if you were of a nervous disposition, the graphics were obviously more limited and the stories were set in remote areas. This is not the case with Resident Evil 6.

Capcom's trailer depicts the franchise's two main protagonists, Leon S Kennedy and Chris Redfield working together with a number of other soldiers, as biological warfare results in regular, everyday people turning into flesh eating zombies. But these are not staggering, lumbering zombies, they're agile, intelligent and menacing ones.

The story takes in the downtown from the US to China, while the enhanced graphics make this a game you might not want to play on your own. It's no wonder Capcom is describing RE6 as "the most ambitious, immersive and feature rich title of the series to date".

Perhaps this need for emotional support during gameplay is what has prompted Capcom to introduce an enhanced co-op mode.

The developer has itself released very few specific details about the title, but the game's official listing on has a two-player co-op and multiplayer option when offline, but when on-line this becomes a six-player co-op.

Quite how the six-player mode will work with only two main protagonists is unclear, but it hints that the story mode may involve some older characters being drafted in to help.

Whichever way you look at it, RE6 looks like a frightening proposition.ADNFCR-1220-ID-801272356-ADNFCR
