Mass Effect 3 demo to launch on Feb 14th

A demo version of Mass Effect 3 will go live on February 14th, ahead of the full release on March 9th.

Leading game developer BioWare has announced that the demo for Mass Effect 3 will be available from February 13th.

Fans of the role-playing game (RPG) franchise have been eagerly awaiting a third chance to go into battle against alien invaders for some time, so the demo launch is bound to prove popular.

BioWare promises that the demo will give a real flavour of what the full title has in store when it is released in Europe on March 9th.

Players will battle an alien race known as the Reapers, getting a taste of the "mind-blowing" attack on Earth which opens the single-player game.

Users will also get the chance to try the cooperative multiplayer mode and the customisation options that come with it.

In the full game, users will take the role of war-torn veteran Commander Shepard, and will get to choose how they go about defeating their enemy using strategy and firepower.

"We are excited to be able to give gamers an expansive demo that will put them right on the front lines of this all-out galactic war," said Casey Hudson, executive producer of the Mass Effect series.

"The entire scale of the game is bigger than anything we've ever done. With its intense action, deep customisation and raw emotional power, Mass Effect 3 will deliver a spectacular action RPG experience to fans of the series and newcomers alike."

Mass Effect 3 recently won the fan vote for Spike TV's Most Anticipated Game of 2012, so there is likely to be a large number of people pre-ordering the title already.

Those who do have the chance to receive some free cutting-edge weapons to use in the game and aid their bid to save the world.

BioWare recently had to delay the first update for Star Wars: The Old Republic, due to a bugging issue.ADNFCR-1220-ID-801271003-ADNFCR
